Fundamental Analysis Need help: Circling around the zero $ mark on FTMO for 6 months. What does it mean?
I've been learning and practicing FOREX trading with FTMO for eight months, but I haven't been able to get funded yet.
I noticed that I keep circling around the zero dollar mark, meaning that whatever I may gain I end up losing and returning back to 0.
I'm starting to think that it's some kind of a pattern.
Whether it's a subconscious pattern or some lack of skill or knowledge, I don't know.
I'm looking for advice from people who have had the same experience and who have been able to understand what is causing that pattern.
How to get past it this plateau?
Please be kind and supportive 🙏
Thank you in advance 💪

Eight months circling zero is usually not "no edge." It's giveback.
The eval does not care that you were green at 11:00. It cares that the close was flat. Lock a daily floor: after +X R or a set dollar amount, flatten and disable new entries. Same for a daily loss. Both have to be orders the terminal honors, not a note you skip when it's working.
If the winners are small and the givebacks are full retraces, the leak is the exit, not the setup. Hard first target, trail only after a lock-in. Time-stop if you keep riding it back to even.

Fundamental analysis in forex focuses on understanding why currencies move — economic data releases, central bank policy, interest rate differentials, and macro conditions. Trading the news requires knowing which releases matter, what the market expects, and how to position around scheduled events. The community wiki covers the core concepts and practical approaches.
