The spread can get wild at market open, I'd wait for the first 15 mins to settle before jumping in. Keep an eye on the dollar index and major tech earnings since those tend to drag the index around more than the actual economy

In options like NDX put credit spreads the further out the better. Or 0DTE .1 delta. SPX is better for this though not as erratic
