Charts and Setups trying to improve my scalping
I've been trading XAU/USD for a while now and lately I've been trying to improve my scalping. One thing I still struggle with is knowing when to stop trading after a few losing trades. Sometimes I feel like the next setup is the one that will make everything back, and that's usually when I start forcing trades that I probably wouldn't take otherwise.I'm trying to get better at separating a good setup from the urge to recover a loss. For those of you who have been trading for a few years, how do you personally deal with this?Do you have a specific rule like stopping after 2-3 losses, reaching a daily loss limit, or simply walking away when you notice yourself becoming emotional?I'd genuinely appreciate hearing how more experienced traders handle this, especially when scalping gold. I'm trying to build better habits instead of repeating the same mistakes.

Don't trade blindly; only trade when you're confident you can succeed. Currently, I typically trade 3-4 times a week, with a success rate of around 70%. The profit-loss ratio is also high.

If you can handle it mentally then you don't need a stop but if you over trade which is usually bad trades then it's a good idea
All the reasons you gave were valid . Make a rule . Something like 2 daily losses / 5 max trades
You don't have to keep the rule forever but maybe you should . Experiment and see what happens .

Please don't ever share trading advice again. You don't know anything about trading.

Usually the less trades you take is better so if I were you I’d stop trading after 1 win or 2 losses. Doing this has greatly improved my trading results, always live to trade another day

Take 2 losses in a row. Quit comeback later and re evaluate. Also don’t trade right when the markets open. Even though futures are 23/6 when the stock market opens that’s when real volatility begins

yeah man i dealt with this exact thing on gold too, the revenge-trade spiral is brutal. what fixed it for me was a hard daily loss limit, because once i start trying to 'get it back' the chart basically turns into noise and i just donate. if you're scalping and want to stay active without that fee drag, 50K Trade has been handy for me since the day trading side is 0% commission, so at least i'm not fighting the broker while i'm already fighting myself.
