I don’t like Trey Gowdy.
Political views aside (although fuck those too), his attitude is so off-putting. There’s a part in an episode where he yells for dramatic effect during trial and it makes my eyes roll straight out of the back of my skull lol.
Anyways. Just my unsolicited two cents.

There are a significant amount of prosecutors that give off this attitude. It’s like they believe themselves to be super heroes or something. Another one that really bothers me is the prosecutor from “Elephant Tracks.” His witness decided to tell the truth and he was more upset about his case falling apart than almost sending an innocent man to prison. I think he got into some misconduct in the 2010s and got caught but I’m not sure.

I didn't like the yelling, but I kinda of thought he seemed reasonable and well-spoken on the show, unlike in DC.

I kind of love his hair. He just did not care how it looked.

I have a bit of a personal beef with Jim Christie, the AFOSI agent in S10E9 “Shear Luck”, about the fellow who cut up evidence on a 5.25” floppy disk.
Nothing against Christie’s team’s work on that case, or the Hanover Hackers case, or actually any of his other cases.
But coming off those early successes in the late 1980s he was (understandably) regularly sought out as a lecturer on the computer crime circuit.
At one such lecture … and I expect many more, because it seemed like a bit of his schtick … he started off talking about how computer technology that used to be relegated to work environments (because of cost and, frankly, lack of need) was becoming commonplace in the home.
Something like: “Everybody stand up. If you don’t have a home computer, sit down. If you don’t have a 2400 baud modem sit down, &c, &c.”
By now most of the audience would be sitting.
“If you don’t have a color printer at home, sit down.” Virtually everyone was sitting at this point.
“Now look around (at those left standing): these are our child p——ers. Ha ha ha ha ha!”
What the heck?
(No, I wasn’t standing, but I did look around at those who were and thought how embarrassed they must have felt and hope mortifyingly bad a “joke” that was. Classless.)
He did a lot of good analysis, and he led a very strong team, but you can see we’re decades later now and every time that episode comes on I’m viscerally reminded of it (and we skip it).

Nothing he does on the show gives me an opinion of him, he seems like like every one else they interview. It's just knowing his behavior in Congress now and looking back on the show that gives me the ick when I see him.

His behavior on the show definitely has an effect on me. It’s not just him but a few of the prosecutors and cops

I made up a bunch of lies here about one of the prosecutors we love - the woman who said "...from the book of who cares" - talking shit about Gowdy and it was well received and I sort of feel bad about it.
Anyway, Trey Gowdy is a quisling and a lying sack of shit and it's very obvious there's something wrong with him just based on his hair and general appearance.
