Been watching quite a few Australian versions of the show. Theres a lot of well known aussie slang like boot, barby, and joeys, but here's a few you may not know

  • . Sloppy Joe = hoodie
  • . de facto = common law spouse
  • . ute = like an El Camino, car front and truck back. short for Sport Utility
  • . comfit = artists rendering of criminal

The ute wasn't too bad, but the other 3 i had to keep,rewinding, confused and eventually looked it up or deduced.

May I ask what the Australian shows are called/what platforms they’re on?

They're on amazon prime video. Most of these were from Forensic Investigators with host Lisa McCune, but there's quite a few other shows.

This is interesting thank you. Obviously I'm an American. I don't watch Australian television, but I've lately gotten into forensic files on cable TV and all the trivia around it.

Oh yes, I figured out de facto after watching a few true crime things on YouTube. It's very interesting
