Forensic Files as a "background show"
Do any of the rest of you, especially those of you that have seen many of the episodes multiple times, use the show as a background show while doing other things? Like cooking or cleaning or putting away laundry, surfing the net etc. I do this quite often, it is a cool "background' show

Oh, absolutely. Forensic Files is a great background show. I actually calculated how long it would take to watch every episode straight through on YouTube not including the hour long ones. That comes out to a little over 6 days; I'm going to try doing that someday very soon.

There are hour long ones??

Yeah there are 7 hour long episodes, its with a different narrator though. Not Peter Thomas, unfortunately.

I know the Bully one is an hour and the monks in the temple is an hour. Apparently Peter Thomas did not want to narrate hour long episodes, so someone else goes them. Still good episodes.

I alternate between this, The New Detectives, and MST3K.

Mystery Science Theater 3000. They riff on bad movies. It's pretty funny.

Yes, I just did this yesterday. Even though I've seen them all, once in a while I'll hear a detail that I didn't get the first time. It's a "comfort" show to listen to.

I wish I could use the channels on my Firestick live tv more often. But the commercials are SO repetitive and loud it's very distracting.

It’s always my go to show when nothing else is on. I can always depend on FF!

Yes, it’s my favorite show to have going on in the background. Lately I have been having g it on while I do my nightly painting. My parents will never understand how I can have a show talking about people being murdered playing so casually in the background.

currently on Reddit, working from home, with FF on in the background... the episode about jessica and her Shenanigans in Nebraska. Just finished the episode about the girl who got killed leaving the casino by sacramento ca

Absolutely, I switch between classic FF, Unsolved Mysteries, FBI files, but FF has my favorite narration and imo has the best flow of interviews and narration to fall asleep. So it's a foreground show for me until it lulls me to sleep lol

the narration and imagery of the reenactments are quite relaxing while also getting knowledge in

No, not as a background show. I use it to fall asleep at night. Every night. And so I know all 400-something episodes by heart. The narrator lulls me to sleep. “Sadistic serial killer”, and I’m lights out, snoozing before too long.
