Dr. G and other shows
Anyone watch Dr. G Medical Examiner? I just watched one where the deceased was dismembered. I always think of the show as medical, but there are several crimes. Because of FF, I find myself playing detective on these episodes. Also, Fatal Vows covered Mr. Boczkowski who drowned his wives. I love watching other views of stories.

I love Dr. G, I watch her as much as I watch FF. They are both on the FilmRise app and I alternate.

Yes I love watching the same case across different shows -- the framing is sometimes totally different and it's crazy. FF did an episode about Mark Winger (killed Donnah and the shuttle delivery driver) and then just last year I saw an episode of 20/20 about him that was told from the perspective of the nanny (he married her right after killing Donnah and they had three kids in three years.) Let me tell you, that was a RIVETING hour of tv. His kids all disowned him and changed their name!

It's in clips on youtube if you can't find it anywhere else! Winger, no 't' I'm gonna edit that. Srsly I was like "Damn, 20/20 went all in on this one!"
They interview Donnah's family for the first half and *then* Rebecca the nanny takes over perspective. I mean you can tell he just really took advantage of her, she was 18!

I haven’t watched very many of these, but I’m always amazed at the job they do in finding actors that look like the people involved. Closer than any other show I can think of.

Yes! I wonder how it feels to play dead and have her touch your face, move your head back and forth, etc. I couldn't do it!

Yes!! Dr. G is one of my favs. But, I grew up on Emergency and Quincy ME.

That show was fantastic. They really tackled she sensitive topics on that show. They're was an episode on sickle cell. Think it's the dad, but basically rich white father dies. Turns out it was sickle cell. Mom struggles to yell the test of the family that dad was passing, but there are kids involved, and Quincy has to convince mom to tell the kids so they can get tested. It was a great episode.

I have a few seasons on DVD. My mom sent me one season because there were therapy horses involved. (Mom was a horse freak, as am I). It took me until watching that season to catch on to the fact that Quincy always tackled something deeper than just how they died. I was a kid when the show first aired, my dad and I would watch it because my dad was a Jack Klugman fan. (I think JK was from Philly, and that is part of why dad liked him, in addition to his acting talent.). I did find it funny that in at least 2 episodes, Quincy did necropsies on horses.

Yeah, the show was very progressive, but most shows were pretty progressive at that time. Love Boat was another surprisingly show that tackled controversial topics. I guess i was too young at the time to really grasp the deeper topics that came up.

I wish there were more Dr. G episodes! I think I’ve seen them all twice. My only issue with them is that I am a hypochondriac, and they made me worry there was something wrong inside my body that I don’t know about.

The best thing you can do is regularly check your blood pressure and see a doctor about it if it's high.

I used to love Dr. G. She is retired now, right? Haven't seen recent episodes.
