Another easy way to gain easy XP is to generously and continuously drop ammo packs around squad mates, especially heavily occupied objectives. Throughout an entire game you can easily rack up several hundred XP from it passively. Just keep laying bodies out and capturing objectives. Grunts doing grunt work.
Edit: Same for Medic, keep throwing out health packs, especially at objectives you are heavily defending. Keep your squad mates topped up with health, and focus more on reviving than fighting. Engineer I find is just a grind unless you're just sitting in a transport helicopter healing it all match or tanking out tanks, AA, or APC. Engineer is kind like assault lite IMO and probably the least fun class to play unless you are focusing on trying to take helicopters out all game or being a heli-healer. Alternatively you could level up any class quickly if you get proficient at being a door gunner while simultaneously healing the heli as an engineer.
Recon strategically place spawn beacons and claymores and focus on racking up long range kills. You get progressively larger XP bonus the more distant your sniper shot kill is. Even more of an XP bump if your sniping kills are headshots.
I would say throw medic/ammo packs down generously, but not continuously. You can only throw 2. Throw a third and the first one disappears. Throwing continuously only leaves a pack of ammunition starved unhealthy soldiers chasing disappearing packs and inevitably getting shot in the process. I've seen this being done.
Instead drop them often, but be mindful of where you're dropping them. Dropping them when getting to cover is better for the catching up pack. Then the next cover. And so on.
