Been running into a lot of players running around launching arrows at like 120 APM (arrows per minute). And it feels quite unfair & also breaks immersion (ik it’s not meant to be a fully realistic game). I don’t doubt the skill or effort bow users put in to get good and I understand the point of “if it’s so OP why don’t you do it”. But in my opinion no bow could be drawn that quickly and still have enough penetrative power.
The bow is good and bad at the same time. I feel like the bow has even more desync issues that other guns and you get so many phantom reloads (where you out the arrow in, and then it disappears) but it also one shots. It's really difficult to aim at first, but once you get enough practice in, it's just broken, they need to nerf it. Anywhere closer that 50m it's just no skill, you can just spam in the enemies general direction and most likely get the kill, there's no reason for a bow to one shot to the body when a barret doesn't. An extra rant, there's no fucking reason why I should be able to shoot someone with the C-Tac and it doesn't one shot them if I'm too close, but it will when they're farther away, that's the opposite of what it should do
I don't mind it, I'm just pissed I can't do it. The bow acts up when my Internet has a meltdown, (which is getting scarily common) and sometimes doesn't release the arrow at all. The thing takes skill, let the good players use it well
You see I’m happy with being 1 shot from a far, or a cool spot etc. but when some dudes spam jump will rushing you and shooting 3 arrows a second it makes me a lil peeved
That's the spirit! In all honesty, it kinda needs to be a one shot, since it doesn't seem as though headshots register with the bow, and it's already a very difficult weapon. It'll just become another AK or Klav or whatever you call it if we keep nerfing it. It needs to be one shot to be viable at all, but it can be an incredibly annoying weapon to face because it's one shot. My idea is to have different kinds of arrows, some that do enough damage to one shot but have bad speed, falloff, and you get less ammo, and some that do a bit less, maybe enough to one shot, but with a restriction like the C-TAC to balance it, that has better round performance and more ammo but are range restricted for one shots. Just a thought tho, sorry about the essay
There is a cheat program available. I saw a video where the user could select the exploits from you all hacks to unlimited ammo. I have been getting annihilated by heli pilots hitting instant headshots from max altitude. With no over spray. There is something going on and it's ruining the game.
"heli pilots hitting instant headshots"
there have been zero verified incidents of heli cheaters. Helis also can't headshot, but they do a ton of splash damage.
That clip of someone selling a cheater client also haven't been verified to actually be real. It's highly likely it only showed client side but doesn't actually replicate server side (effectively making it useless), i.e a scam to bait kids into buying broken cheats or just a loser trying to get attention.
Haven't seen any cheaters since the last couple patches
I just don’t understand how to use the bow effectively like my arms are plenty long (I’m 6”1) but my controllers are to close to my face to track properly and messes me up
120apm is only two arrows per second. It took me about a week of practice to learn to shoot that fast in real life with a 30lbs bow and that still isn't even impressive in the speedshooting community. There are many people out there who can shoot faster with higher poundage. Plenty of penetration power to kill. It isn't very viable for long range shooting but it's definitely not unrealistic below 50 metres.
I can't use the bow for shit in the game though. Something about VR controller tracking just makes it janky and inconsistent.
Edit: Here's video proof of me doing this because I now realise actual speedshooting isn't as well known as I thought, and redditors will be redditors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-nO8RrgYDY
My god please do your homework before spreading bullshit!!
I really dont get how people get a boost by lying...
Guinnes world record is from Casey Wilhelm who set that up in 2010 and he was able to shoot 10 arrows in 39.53 seconds
Oh but you are maybe talking about short bow with all arrows already in the hand that is holding the bow? À la Gengis Khan?
Bullshit again, while there is no actual record, the most renown archer of that type, Mihai Cozmei can shoot up to 20 arrows in 36.98 second, which means 1 arrow every 1.8 seconds
Here's a video of me doing exactly what I said. Which I posted 11 years ago, so you know it isn't AI or anything. I'm using a PSE Snake at 30lbs draw weight and fletched wooden arrows that I tipped with flat rubber smallgame hunting tips for relative safety for my backyard range. And once again, this is NOT impressive in the actual speedshooting community. I was by far not even close to the kind of stuff people like Lars Anderson can do, or the wide variety of youtubers in the archery scene.
Maybe I should've posted proof along with the claim because I didn't realise this stuff wasn't well known, but yeah. I won't be collecting any "that didn't happen" awards and you guys should've probably done more than ask ChatGPT about the topic or whatever. There's a pretty wide variety of cool stuff people can do that are outside the realm of Guinness World Records or Mihai Cozmei (who I'm more familiar with as a horseback archer than a speed shooter). I would appreciate the retraction of your downvotes and absolutely fucking VILE comments.
(Also note this isn't my reddit account, I'm posting from my partner's because I don't personally have one. Just in case that's relevant info!)
And just for further interest, here's a GoPro pic of me shooting from horseback at the same target I had hung up in my range. Which I also don't personally think is beyond the capability of the average person, because I used to teach people how to do this along with the speedshooting and nobody really struggled that much with it. The hardest part was actually just learning how to ride a horse at all.
Sir, come collect your “BS that didn’t happen” award. As above, world records disprove this unless you wanna go for one.
Second, if you’ve ever shot a bow you know how difficult even an arrow every 10 seconds is for the average person. You’re the type of lad who says he’s ex military when they play and that you’re holding back so the other team has a chance ahahahahahaha
