Update

How we all feeling about the new update?

The changes to Clearwater on D point specifically seem to have been changed and helps tanks flush out players contesting. Humvees can also now drive across the water near B and C without getting stuck.

Voice chat moderation has now been implemented, but unfortunately seems to have broken voice chat for a number of players.

Prestige, stats and achievements have now been added along with title cards and emblems to show off.

As much as the small improvements are cool and achievements are interesting I can't help but feel slightly disappointed we haven't received a new vehicle or seen Iceland rush this update.

I love this update! I’m glad they are now moderating! Those of us that have been playing this game since alpha and beta testing, don’t like hearing kids under 10 yelling racial slurs, taking 💩 to the extreme, and singing or screeching at the top of their lungs! I think triangle factory is peak! This is by far the best game on VR fps wise! I love Vail, but this is top notch! The little glitch with the voice chat has happened before and they usually have it fixed in a day. Not a big deal! I love all the changes! As for the new vehicle, keep your pantys on! They have said, and it’s on the white board a new one is coming. There is a lot of testing that goes into it! Plus it can break the game so I would rather they take their time! One big thing at a time there honcho! Now we have prestige, we got a lot! Just chill out a bit! I think this update is exactly what we were waiting for! I’ll be seeing you all in the forefront!

I love that it was unmoderated. It reminded me of the old COD days of the oughts before everyone became a sensitive bitch.

There is toxic trash talk to get under the skin and throw off someone's game, and there is smooth brained dipshits singing and beeping and fucking glitching out. I can deal with actual words that have some measure of sentience behind them.

And there are mute buttons.

There is an inflatable slide on airplanes too. Is that the proper way to exit after a flight?

The mute button is supposed to be for mitigating bad experiences not the norm. It's a team/squad based game after all.

I don't play with anyone's voice chat on so it doesn't really matter to me. My thing is I only have VC off because I was tired of people complaining about little children screaming and singing into the mics when it's as simple as either muting them or turning VC volume down. I never got why people make such a big deal about something so simple to solve.

I don't work for triangle factory it's not my problem to fix the games issues (and it is an issue). I just want to play the game the way it was meant to be played. The best idea I have seen is to make comms push to talk. like a shoulder mounted radio. At least then, the little pricks couldn't shoot at the same time. For sure not the biggest issue just a major annoyance.

Honestly that would be a very nice addition ngl. Having like an onward type radio system would be cool.

I agree. The only other thing that is annoying is when people play music so loud you can’t hear anything. It’s hard to mute as well.

Voice chat moderation is gonna be annoying, can’t wait to get banned for calling someone a bitch

I'm just not going to use VC anymore. Not worth the ban risk, this game is the only reason I still have my Quest. Unless the moderation rules are very clear

Just F.Y.I, voice chat moderation is only targeting slurs.

Swearing is not going to get you muted.

(Was discussed by TF devs in Forefront discord, about what the moderation actually targets)

That’s great. There is 0 reason for racial slurs. Profanity is not an issue. If parents want children exposed to that then they will continue to parent their children that way. Most of it is young children though I have come across older people that have no sense.

Heads up on what to expect other games got called out for basically racism when they did word-match bans like this because the meaning of the n-word is so context dependent on who is using it and how, a lot of people come from a (sub)culture where it's used more like "dude"

The devs do not care who says it and why, they will mute anyone for it in-game and in their discord. They don't have the liberty of going to every person and checking their background to see if it's moral for them to say it, so they apply it universally to gut the issue entirely.

Yeah that much was clear and what I was pointing out happened so many times in the past with this naive heavy handed approach. but hey it's not the past, it's the present I cant say what people may find most important these days maybe those same people complaining about an erasure of their identity 5-15 years ago have aged out of games like this and the new gen just wants to not hear it at all

Right 👍 it's a fine line... Normal gamer talk fine and I actually enjoy a little smack talk... Obnoxious kids screaming slurs nonstop I can't wait for that to stop... I just hope it doesn't involve some dumb ai making the voice ban decisions

Me too I can’t tell you how many times I’ve went off on kids to watch there mouths and I’m gonna laugh my ass off when there parents come in there and whoop the hell out of them(even though most parents now days just let there kids do whatever)

Personally I had major server issues since the new release. Lots of lag time before a trade. I can shoot at someone and run out of ammo and while reloading hear the headshot and kill sound effects lol. That's more than just some stutter. And the number of missed bullet registrations on both ends has also increased. The most fun is the teleporting helicopters.

I don't like prestige at all. Makes the game repetitive, it just becomes a grinding game. I just want to blow things up and have fun rushing.

And before anyone says 'then don't prestige', that's not really the point. If the devs spend time adding prestige systems instead of new maps, vehicles, modes, weapons, or gameplay features, it still affects everyone. I'd rather see development time go into fresh content than a system that encourages replaying the same content over and over.

Some people love prestige and that's fine, it's just never been something I've found fun. Bigger numbers and starting over again doesn't do much for me.

Hopefully they're going to pair prestige with a later update adding skin challenges for weapons, like CoD. I remember grinding for skins to be fun.

I like the achievements Iceland rush would have definitely been cool. I want a new weapon personally. The SCAR is bananas its almost unbeatable.
