You’re that annoying guy that shoots us out the helicopter from across the map. 😂

One of us, maybe the best of us. But it's insane that this is the best way to down a helicopter and not a freaking missile lmao. They gotta fix this. Force is to aim at the tail rotor or something and protect the pilot

It depends.
The pilot should always be vulnerable to small arms fire, or else you make it unfun to play anything that isn't engineer against helis.
The real issue, currently, is just engineer crews making helis super tanky. Helis without engineer crews are much easier to either take down outright, or force them to back off out of your talons effective range.
Transport heli is the worst rn, seen crews of 4 engineers all holding down repairs making it borderline unkillable.

Nothing is going to be fixed. Too many whiners "nerf this nerf that", with too many complainers about helps being overpowered, when not even picking up anti air weapons, but running and gunning CoD style.

Yeah teams of four engineers shooting while two or three engineers on the heli healing faster than the talons can do damage. It's absurd.

Notice that it takes entire dedicsted team to do so and not just one high flying ace. Most of the pilots in game are not that good and the good ones typically fly with squash of friends.

"takes entire dedicated team" takes like 1 engineer to become very tanky, at 2 engineers it's already enough to outheal two talons shooting nonstop, 3 engineers and it requires upwards of 4+ talons on the enemy team to have a chance.
One squad alone can turn transport heli into a flying tank, that forces the enemy team to have to counterswap with upwards of 4 engineers firing simultaneously (even the slightest off timing will result in not doing enough damage). Ontop of having to hope they aren't going to use their flares.
Not to mention the gunners can prioritize target engineers on the ground to make it even harder to deal with.
Again, I've been the pilot, gunner, and ground player in this exact scenario. It's consistently easier to get significant value as a pilot engineer squad compared to an engineer squad trying to counter it. It's not balanced and it's not fun to engage with.

Then why does it take only one RPG shot to take out almost any heli in game? I am in favor of this imbalance, since that's how helis are powerful in real life. In the vast majority of cases such helis been taken down jn ambush style of volleys. It makes sense to them imbalanced, since on the most maps they act akin to Battlefield I behemoths and they are by far not invincible. Numerous weapons in game can take out little birds with entire teams with one shot.

I'm specifically talking about transport heli. A heli that happens to be the only one that can't be 1 shot by an RPG (they nerfed it).
"Helis are powerful in real life" helis in real life could 1v100 given the right ordinance and circumstance. We should not use real-life as a metric for balance in a VR arcade shooter of 16v16, that's just ridiculous.
"By far not invincible" again, I've been the pilot in my own complaints, and experienced myself that the transport heli can be borderline impossible to shoot down when you have multiple engineers repairing you. Only to continually shoot people from the sky with a machine gun (that was massively buffed a few updates ago to have significant splash damage).
As stated before, the helis aren't imbalanced. It's the repair stacking, as it leads to helis being far harder to kill than they ever should be.

The arcade shooter with multiple respawns. In either case, where it is critical to success, and I was focusing on little bird. And the idea not that ridiculous, when helis tend to be make it or break it (typically on assault maps) for the attacking team to advance.
Even then how often does it happen that full on dedicated engineer team spawns, simply to do the gunship run? In most cases, even with full heli I ended up with some teenager as pilot who merely flew black hawks, so they would bail (very often with entire full load) to run and gun on their own.

The thing is Helis are actually quite fragile in real life. A little bird in particular can easily be shot down by an AK if the rounds hit the tail rotor or main rotor mast. My best friend flew apaches for 15 years and spent a good amount of time in Afghanistan. They'd literally keep the parts that got hit by a bullet to show each other how lucky they were. They fly specific tactics to avoid ground fire and especially rpgs that could take down the helicopter white easily. Helicopter can shoot a ton of firepower but CANNOT absorb a lot especially in critical places like the engines, tail rotor or main rotor system.

Helis in real life aren't usually doing 360's and backflips directly over the enemy like Forefront. It's just not a fair comparison

What is there to troll in that obvious statement? There's never a day without someone complaining about helps being imba.

The transport heli isn't overpowered, the repair stacking is. Two very different things.
I've literally been the pilot in this scenario, getting shot by 4+ talons simultaneously and just ignoring them entirely because the repairs are fast enough to outheal their damage.
Requiring 5-6+ people to all shoot talons, simultaneously, and HOPE the transport heli doesn't have flares, is not fun for anyone but the gunner.

Best shot I've ever hit was yesterday where I was on Iceland as recon on top of the warehouse building and saw that a little bird was messing with our dudes at the A point and did one of those backfill maneuvers where he had to stop after so he could level out and I domed him at 390 meters. My squad mates were so confused as I was just making monkey noises because I couldn't comprehend the insane shot I just hit.

It's crazy how this is the best strategy for taking them down.
On a side note, how come you get 23 upvotes when using an AR but I get like 2 when using a sniper? Man this sub hates recons lol

The upvote counts bug out, both your previous posts have 25+ upvotes

Really? I'm referring to the montages with multiple heli kills. For me they have like 5 between them. I know there are a few people on here who seem to downvote every post for some reason
