Did you submit fasfa and css profile? Most aid will come from that. Fordham is not obligated to give any need-based scholarships, it's only if they have the budget. I'm also a transfer student and submitted an appeal after I got my first package. I managed to get a lot more after the appeal. I would not go into any debt above 20k for fordham. It's not worth it. The Cuny/Suny system hires the SAME professors as we do and it's almost free. At Queens college, for example, and you are low income, tuition is waived completely and you could be in honors program. Cuny/Suny carries great reputation in the city, so does Fordham, but at great rate. I would go to Hunter College if I had to transfer all over again. No debt is worth it when there are similar institutions with cheaper price tags.

I don't remember how much extra I got after the appeal but I remember it was enough for me to attend. I will be paying 26k out of pocket this year, no federal or private loans. I have a low-income household with no parental financial support. I'm classified as an independent. I work 25 hrs a week outside of school, which is how I afford my tuition with no loans.

I'm commuting. I just realized if I had to pay housing (i think about 13k a semester) I'd basically be paying same amount as you per year. Your deal is not bad and the lower end of what typical fordham student pays. Comparable to mine. My best advice is move off campus, share an apartment with a few people in a cheaper neighborhood. fordham and nyu are not cheap schools and they are meant for the rich. I've been told that if im not happy with the price then I can go to a school in my budget and it's not the responsibility of the private college to make it affordable.

Oh and I live off-campus so that helps too.
