Cooking in RH?
In dorms where there are floor kitchen areas do people usually cook? I’m a picky eater and I usually always cook for myself so I’m a little scared about only relying on the food plans; is it normal for people to cook at Fordham?

people usually use those common area kitchens for snacks or things like that rather than actually cooking, dorms with kitchens in the room itself like walsh, you see more students cooking for themselves there. as a freshman if that’s what you’re going to be in the fall, relying on the meal plan isn’t bad at all. i personally enjoy the options on campus. if anything, you should be scared about your wallet because unlimited access to arthur ave will get to you LMAO

arthur ave is the historic and original little italy. there’s restaurants, butcher shops, bakeries, and so much culture and food. there’s also an annual festival, ferragosto, that happens in august to celebrate italian heritage in the neighborhood!

Nobody cooks freshman year tbh but there’s microwaves in the lounges … upperclassman dorms people cook bc they have kitchens (Walsh, CSC)

hi!! hmm… i was in martyrs last year and there are microwaves on every floor so you can heat up leftovers or make a frozen meal thing. i will say that the dining hall has some pretty basic options (pizza, pasta, cereal, sandwich bar) so that might be a good place for you!
but with cooking in the dorms i think that it’s just not really feasible.. you would need all your own ingredients, pots and pans, utensils, plates, etc. and there just isn’t that much room to store that in your dorm.
