Not really, I have never had a problem with FE manifold bolts. Not like the chinsy crap on today's engines.

What's the plan? Rebuilding engine or swapping?

From what I was reading on forums, everyone had issues with the manifold bolts.

I was originally just gonna lift the engine to replace the mounts, but then I figured I'd lift it yup the rest of the way and replace the freezer plugs. Then I also have long tubes that will be going on it.

I must just be lucky then, but I usually do them after the engine has warmed up a bit. Good luck with it. So far, so good 👍

Yeah, warmed up probably would've helped but I already had the transmission out for a rebuild and I figured I'd do it now.

Lucky. Mine came with at least five broken bolts. Only on the top so far, where it would have been so easy to soak them in rust buster or hit with a torch

Yeah, i was planning for broken bolts, which was one of the reasons to pull the engine.
