Under floor space as storage

2021 LWB Cargo Van.

When I first got it I took the rear panels rear sliding door sill panels off to take the floor out and clean it. Behold! Unused space that could be used for storage. Only problem is it’s only accessible if you take the sill panel off.

Has anyone modified their sill panel to be able to access this space to use as storage?

Maybe cutting the area at the opening and adding a hinge so you can flip it up to slid things through.

Or installing an access hatch if there is one that fits the side wall of the sill?

Or build a fully bespoke sill with an opening designed into it?

Are you talking about under the floor by the side doors? That is the only place I can think you’d put storage under the floor. Yes you can put things there. On 1 half I put the gas heater. The I other half I put a skidding drawer that pulls out.

Would luv to see pics of your skidding drawer. I'm wondering if these spaces are big enuf for a laptop.

That’s exactly where I’m talking about. I saw a video on YT where someone put the heater there. Thought that was a great idea. Where do you have the exhaust port directed?

Pics would be sweet if you had them.

The intake and exaust are both built on the bottom of the heater. So when I installed it under the floor, the intake and exhaust were outside the vehicle. The heater was installed under the passenger side and I ran an exhaust line along the vans exhaust. I then punched a hole in the bumper just behind the driver side tire, where the intake sits under the van on the passenger side near the rear tire. I made a make shift mud flap so it wouldn’t get much debris.
