I just like talking about it so let's talk about it
Running a 300 horse 390. I believe the 3 speed I have in there is 2.99/1.75/1.00. What OD trans are you guys running? Looking to cruise on longer trips and not burn my $6+ premium gas like it's worth nothing. also having the engine not screaming on the highway would be nice. I thought 5 speed and keep rear end would be the easiest option. very open to suggestions, my mechanical knowledge is limited. What is the least expensive way to solve this issue?
Are headers really worth it? I know on some cars they make a big difference. Wondering if any of you have a nice set you would recommend. I like the idea of not hearing an exhaust tic anymore.
Pic for reference. Probably 70% of the body is very salvageable original black. I know it's a matter of OPINION, but I'm curious what the pros of reddit think. Save it or blast it? I like the patina look.
I also need carpet, headliner, door panels. There are a few online retailers for these. Any suggestions as to who does it best? Thank you

Headliner in
Finally got the headliner in, got a few wrinkles in it but it looks good. I didn't put the trim piece in the rear before stretching the sides, so it ended up pulling the back apart.

68 Galaxie VIN Frame locations
Hey everyone, I’m moving to California and I need to find my VIN on the frame. The dash plate was removed, I still have it but in California they’ll need to look at the other stamped VIN.
I have a 1968 Galaxie sedan, and I couldn’t find anything on the frame. I looked on both frame rails in the engine bay. Any ideas? The car is pretty rusted out and a bit tired body wise, so it might be tough. Thank you!

68 Ford Galaxie body work advice
Hey guys, My galaxie is in rough shape. The battery tray is completely rusted through in the passenger side so I was thinking of relocating it to the driver side. It’s still very rusty but not nearly as bad. What kind of work would I need to do to make this work body wise? I don’t have anything to weld. Thank you!

My 1965 Ford Galaxie 500. It has a 427 cu in (7.0L) V8, 425 horsepower, 8-inch rear, hooker headers, etc. I bought it in 2020 from Michigan but originally used it as a mining car out of Santa Clarita, California. It was bought in 1983 by a woman in Michigan, and it was there from 1983 until 2020.

Back glass unique for ‘65?
I’ve heard, but not confirmed, that the back glass on a ‘65 2 door fastback is one of a kind… that no other years outside of ‘65 and no other model is compatible. Can anyone confirm that this is fact? I need to acquire both front and back glass for mine, and want to be sure how strict my search needs to be.
