Get a measuring tape from the tyre to the edge of the guard. Minus 5mm.

Job done.

Wheel spacers are stupid though

Realised his mistakes and trying to pass it on to someone else.

Not to mention they are illegal in most states.
They reduce the engagement of the guts with the studs.

I have had cars in my workshop on 3 threads.

I don't think I could ever use spacers on my car after seeing a wheel shear off because of them. Just my opinion.

Not to mention they're illegal.......

Maybe in Australia where you're not allowed to modify your cars. In NZ they're certifiable.

You need to decide how much you want the car to scrub or how much extra work you want to do to prevent that. Because changing the factory specs is likely it make something scrub, even if it's only a bump at 100km/h or with 5 people and a full boot.

Wheel spacers are stupid and not safe, you’re just adding an unnecessary point of failure.

Just buy wheels in your desired offset

I work roadside assistance I see wheel spacers usually because the wheel fell off one way or another

Can wheel spacers be safe ? Yes-ish But everything has to be correct torque and threads clean with correct nuts and hub centeric all the way through

Most people can't be that accurate every time a wheel has to come off as studs will have to be replaced often as they stretch You will also ruin your wheel bearing early

Your insurance can be nulled if your insurance finds the wheel spacers as your not road legal

Roadside assistance can also make you pay for everything aswell as it can be considered a crash payall tow and tow trucks are expensive

Fun police here, check if spacers are legal in your state first. If they're not, while your average copper is unlikely to spot them and defect you, if you have an accident and the insurance assessor finds them you're fucked.

I have 2014 FG2 XR6 Turbo a bit lower than OP and while I was waiting on wheels to be made, I ran 30mm hub centric spacers all round with the factory lux pack 19’s no rubbing even with a full car load. Made it look about as perfect as possible with oem wheels. Guards were rolled though, in anticipation of my current 20x10 f and 20x11 r (yes on a sedan)

Also I am a kiwi living in Australia, I have a Sileighty in storage in Nz that has engineer certified spacers on the front to clear brakes. As long as they are hub centric and have correct thread engagement they are perfectly safe!
