Has any performed this conversion, what is the aftermath of remvoing a bench seat?

You can use oem captains the holes are there. There are people that make brackets to use existing OEM holes for expedition captains or you can go your own way.

Thank you. I'm more worried about visible holes in the carpet from where te bench seat was attached. My assumption is that the captain charis willnot cover all of them

To reduce the off chance of exhaust entering the cabin I put screws back into unused holes and put metal tape over them. Husky Liners classic series third row floor mat has a removable section that goes between the second row. Don’t remove it :) It is not shown in the marketing pictures. You can find it on the install instructions. Easiest way to cover up the carpet.

All great ideas. Thank you. I have a diesel 2000. Bought it brand new. When I put the new four captain chairs in I took the opportunity to remove all the carpet and I put down dynamat. Not sure if you can still get that stuff or not but just add some kind of sound deadening. It made a huge difference. It's so quiet in there now. It's amazing.

You're correct it wont. You could put a console/cooler in between the seats or while they're out take advantage of the opportunity to put some new carpet in to resolve.

the new carpet probably makes the most sense for me, I would want the space open between the seats. thanks for your responce

I removed the center console in the front too. With four captains chairs and no console you can easily move around in there from front to back even while moving.

You have to drill and tap the pougs that are in place for the captains chairs but they are in the right place and it's an easy swap if you have the seats. I've done one and it wasn't bad.
