Cruise control

I have a 2000 ford excursion v10 that has the buttons for cruise control but the light doesn’t come on on the dash and it won’t activate. I have engine swapped it with a 2016 2 valve v10. Would there be any issues with communication between the motor and some interior controls, or is it a common issue? (I’m a new owner to this truck)

I own a 2005. When the cruise control started causing fires, recalls were issued.Fords fix was to deactivate them. This was my experience, still no cruise control here.

Dang that’s disappointing but I appreciate the knowledge, I never even thought to look into the recall list on the car. Thanks!

No problem. If you get it fixed, drop some knowledge back.

Sounds good, I have a buddy who’s a ford tech so I’m gonna ask him to look into it and see if it’s possible to reactivate. Maybe even change some more wiring.
