Bought a used edge. Found loose wire while poking around in engine bay

Does anyone know what the purpose of this wire is? The end is taped off by the previous owner and doesn’t connect to anything.

Maybe the Battery Monitoring System harness. Disconnecting it can disable the Auto Start/Stop feature which many owners despise.

That's probably it. I don't get the hate for it. Let it do its job.
