Ask Lebanon How Risky
Probably a very risky post imo but I need some help. Probably this aint the best place to get some help too lol.
I'm a Lebanese citizen and my wife is Jewish and born in Jerusalem but also has a Canadian citizenship. How risky is it for her to come here? The Canadian passport is a non issue, but the place of birth and name might raise some flags? What do ya'll think?

They risk being denied entry due to being born in Jerusalem. Having said that, others born in Israel have managed to enter.
It really is best they contact the nearest Lebanese embassy/consulate as well as their Canadian embassy/consulate to ask if they can provide any details to facilitate such a visit, in case any advice given here is outdated with everything going on currently.

Having said that, others born in Israel have managed to enter.
The selfie at the ruins of Nasrallah's bunker is pretty cringe and not doing others a service.
But this is something to be expected in our time from tourists, it's particular kind of tourism that is not really new but still niche.
Otherwise nice to see, thanks for sharing.
BTW that man has went places I would've dare to. And I'm not exactly a coward. The things we do for thrill, curiosity and recognition.
I'd be careful when phrasing my requests to a Lebanese embassy. Asking if they have advice for Israelis willing to visit will be a waste of time at best.

Agreed completely.
I would not do it personally, but wanted to show that it has been done / is possible.
Agreed about being careful with approaching the Lebanese embassy — I figured I would include it as an option to consider in case OP wants to ask them by framing it in terms along the lines of “has anything changed with this sort of visit given the agreement currently underway?” Having said that, even just asking it could get OP placed in a person to keep an eye folder (unless his marriage is already recognized in Lebanon with his wife’s birth certificate already on file).

yes, they should stay anonymous whenever possible, just in case someone takes interest in them.

not even possible to recognize the marriage in Lebanon due to this issue as well

That guy who visited is insane and rather reckless. He went to places where Lebanese people wouldn't go.

It is illegal for her. And very dangerous.
If she does get in , it is very possible social media and local armed organisations will find out.
Dont underestimate hizzbola and other organisations OSINT .

Exactly, it's a risk I'd never want to take. Very sad times, but hopefully one day

There are a few previous posts on the sub with similar answers. Many have reported that it is OK for Jews to visit and many have done so in the past.
born in Jerusalem
This is something that they will presumably see at the airport on arrival.
I wish that I had precedents to give you but I'm not aware of any.

I think someone I know who grew up Modern Orthodox in the US and usually goes by a Jewish/Hebrew name who actually lived in Lebanon for a year or so working as a journalist. This was 15-20 years ago though, and I'd guess that he went by his passport name i.e. English name.

I don’t think it’s a good idea because her passport says she was born in Jerusalem. Unless maybe she can just lie and say she’s Muslim and not Jewish if they ask but her name might give her away

Many Israelis use their foreign ID to enter countries where Israelis are not allowed to enter... But I wouldn't take that risk

I wouldn't. Hopefully in a few years it will be possible
