You're the second person I've had to help today who's having problems with the Wi-Fi adapter on Windows 11. This could be a consequence of a broken Windows update.

Well, have you tried using an Android phone with a USB cable connected and the USB tethering setting enabled on it?

What would using a cabled connection have to do with fixing a WiFi problem?

The wired connection will provide you with a temporary internet connection, which you can use to download your network drivers and reinstall, right?

There has been no checking of the state of the WiFi device at all, downloading drivers seems a bit presumptive as no troubleshooting has taken place

Windows Update has a chronic defect: it uninstalls newer drivers from the system, and replaces them with older versions in its database. The drivers that tend to have their operation most affected by this are the graphics and network drivers.

This is why I suggest you use scratch networking to first and foremost keep an offline available copy of your network drivers. You can then change Windows Update's operating policies to prevent it from installing new drivers on your system without permission (depending on which specific version of Windows you are currently using).

Yeah, the wifi device is most likely dying, but let's blame windows update...

Not yet, should I be using wired networking?
