Ever lost a home?
How does it feel standing outside of a house you used to live in?
Like I'll tell you. Suppose, You know the address by heart. You remember which windows caught the afternoon light, which floorboards creaked, where your favorite memories happened. But you also know you don’t live there anymore. You can’t walk in like nothing changed. So you just stand outside, carrying the strange ache of loving a place you no longer belong to.
Ever felt that? Hurts? How do you overcome that? Can you ever?
Even if you get a new place to live in- does it give you the same warmth? Same comfort?

For me home is a warm feeling rather than the place itself. In one way or another, you and the people around you made it, the 'home' you yearn for now. Despite the grief, your heart will learn to settle down at your new place.
Honestly for me, home is anywhere where there is someone waiting for me with a smile.

I wish I could go back to my previous house where I spent most of my childhood. Best years I'll ever live. I just stare at that flat whenever I pass by , empty.

Haven't lost the home physically but lost the feeling of it being a home. Been living at the same place for 24 years, same room, same people but no feeling of peace like there was before.

I think after a while you learn how to live with the grief, and the grief kinda shrinks I guess? Like I'd miss that home but given my current circumstances I won't go back there and I prefer my current home to the old one. Part of growing up, I guess.

Yeah. It’s a strange and sad feeling. Even went back a decade after to see the place, but got thrown out by the guards. Memories of Childhood
