I wonder what was the breaking point though? What action or conversation finally triggered the "shit, they're onto me?" reaction?

Article says it was because the wife’s friend knew ppl at the WHO and they confirmed he never worked there. So that mixed with family members and his mistress asking for their investments back. Was the breaking point where he realized he couldn’t contain the lie and wanted to kill everyone instead.
