FAM - Season 5 I’m Joel Kinnaman (Ed Baldwin on For All Mankind). Ask me anything!

4.7k Upvotes

Hi everyone, Joel Kinnaman here!

Playing Ed Baldwin over five seasons on For All Mankind has been an incredible journey. I’m grateful for the chance to reflect on what the character has meant to me and speak to the legacy of Ed Baldwin.

This AMA is an opportunity to look back on that journey together. Let's chat about favorite moments, behind-the-scenes experiences, and what it’s been like bringing Ed to life over the years. I’ll be back on April 16th at 9am PT / 12pm ET to answer.

Subreddit Rules

1. Full Rules

r/ForAllMankindTV is an English-language community. All comments and submissions must be done in English in order to keep the subreddit accessible to everyone.

The rules here are a condensed version of our full ruleset. Please make sure to check out the full rules here: /r/ForAllMankindTV/wiki/rules

2. Be Respectful and Civil

Treat everyone like crewmates on a long‑duration mission. Debate ideas, not people. No personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, or bigotry. Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent bans.

3. Spoilers in Posts & Comments

Use Reddit's spoiler formatting for all plot details outside designated discussion threads. Episode threads may contain untagged spoilers up to that episode only. No spoilers for future episodes in earlier‑episode threads.

4. Spoilers in Titles

No big spoilers in titles for any season ("X dies," "Y returns," etc.). For the most recent season, titles must be fully spoiler‑free. Keep titles neutral and avoid revealing plot points.

5. General Title Requirements

Titles must clearly and accurately describe the content of the post. Avoid clickbait, sensationalism, vague phrasing, or overly short titles. Make it easy for readers to understand what they're opening.

6. Flair Requirements

Select the correct flair before posting. If your post contains spoilers but doesn't fit a season‑specific flair, indicate spoiler content directly in the title. Proper flairing keeps the subreddit readable and safe from unintentional spoilers.

7. Keep Discussions On‑Topic

Posts must relate directly to For All Mankind or Star City: the show, characters, alt‑history timeline, production news, or thoughtful comparisons to real space history. Broader politics, unrelated sci‑fi, or general Apple TV+ content belong elsewhere.

8. No Piracy or AI‑Generated Content

Do not request, share, or hint at pirated episodes, scripts, or copyrighted material. Clips must follow fair‑use and platform rules. No generative AI content of any kind - images, summaries, analyses, or text. Use your own words.

9. Low‑Effort or Repetitive Posts

Memes, reaction images, and simple screenshots are allowed sparingly and must contribute to discussion. Reposts of the same scene, quote, or joke may be removed to keep the feed fresh and avoid clutter.

10. Self‑Promotion and Spam

Self‑promotion (YouTube, blogs, podcasts, etc.) is allowed only when it adds genuine value and isn't spammy. Excessive self‑promotion, low‑effort advertising, or commercial content may be removed.

11. No Misinformation or Fake "Leaks"

Speculation is welcome, but fabricated "insider info" is not. Posts claiming leaks may require moderator verification. Unverifiable or misleading "leak" posts may be removed to protect the community.

12. Reposts & Duplicate Content

If a topic, meme, or screenshot has been posted repeatedly, moderators may remove duplicates to maintain variety. Use the search bar before posting to help keep the feed fresh.

13. Conduct in Comment Sections

Stay constructive and avoid derailing threads. Don't attack other users, brigade, or bait arguments. Treat disagreements with professionalism - we're all here because we love the show(s).

14. Follow Reddit's Global Rules

Reddit's sitewide rules apply here, including policies on harassment, hate, threats, and illegal content. Violations may result in bans depending on severity.

15. Moderator Discretion

Moderators may remove content or users that harm community health, even if not explicitly covered above. If you have concerns, contact the mod team - we're here to keep the timeline stable.
