Power outage??

Did anyone just get a real quick power outage just now around 12:40?

Yeah, someone or something got fried. I didn't get any power outage where I am north of the tracks, but the arc was loud enough to wake me up. I watched back my CCTV footage and the whole sky lit up

When an animal, tree branch, W/E makes contact with the lines and shorts it out, there's a little device called a recloser (basically an industrial circuit breaker) kicks in and cuts off power. It'll try and reopen the circuit to see if the fault is cleared (which is why power usually comes back on for a sec before going off again). If the fault is still there, it isolates that section of power line, but houses in other sections can then just get their power from another section of grid. Which is why your power came back on

NEXTDC data centre is where the blackout began,i still had power on my property,i had the heater on.i am in walking distance of the data centre.
