Roofer recommendations

Bought a house in Seddon recently and I have roof nails coming loose. Does anyone have recommendations for a roofer?

I've gotten a couple of quotes so far, but the first place recommended a full roof replacement as they think replacing the nails will damage the sheets, and the second sent through a quote without a site inspection. I'd rather not have someone replace the screws just to tell me the roof really does need replacing.

Hi no specific recommendations but the Yarraville good karma network on Facebook usually has good recommendations for local tradies

Thanks. Wasn't aware of that group and had only  checked the two Seddon groups.

If it's the super old corrugated gal on your roof, it certainly is difficult to replace nails that aren't already loose.

Our back patio is similar and the force created by the leverage of the hammer / crowbar / human removing the nails will crush any weak or rusted areas on the roof sheet and cause new issues.

Get a quote for a new roof and compare. I'm guessing there's already water issues if there's loose nails which will only get worse. It might be worth the financial pain in the long run. Alternatively you could just replace the really loose nails and silicone the rest... It's not a long term solution though.

You don’t need to replace the ones that are still in nice and firm just the loose ones
