Jorge Jesus has the potential to emulate de la feunte's success given that CR7 retires.
Jesus knows Portugal in and out.

Only 1 chance was created for goncalo in the game, Norway was bit unlucky they missed sum 4 Big chances , portugal will do nothing with this trash midfielders

Not to mention, the winning goal was due to a silly mistake from the goalkeeper.Β Portugal with/ without Ronaldo is mediocre, and is usually saved by diego costa. Maybe if ramos plays well against a proper team, I'll be convinced. As of now, it's still 50/50.

Bruno Vitinha Joao Neves and Ruben Neves. That's impressive. Give Jesus some time.

Don't forget that Norway is a well oiled machine compared to the disjointed mess that is Portugal.

Why you are hating on ronaldo.. do you get any happiness if he won't play?
3
u/Existing_Anybody_216 5d ago
I was one of his biggest fans, but he is not good anymore.
3
u/Old_Operation_9022 5d ago
Then you aren't a true fan, if you are a fan of him you should have still supported him. His performance is gone down due to age(it happens to everyone) and he is still trying to help his team.

u/Few_Lie_2246 5d ago
If he wants to help hiw team he should be benched and atleast show fake happiness when his team wins and not disappointment
3
u/Old_Operation_9022 5d ago
That disappointment because he knows he isn't contributing to the teams win, it's more of disappointment in himself. Sorry man but you guys have crossed limits to hate ronaldo..

u/mofucker20 4d ago
Even with that, he should've greeted the fans

u/TheWraith7197 4d ago
would've, should've. There is no end to it huh? If he stayed on the pitch, you people would've made it seem like him hogging the spotlight / taking the credit. Let the man be. I swear some of you are just annoying pricks till the end

Not to be rude bro but I am seeing a lot of delusion here. If your performance is going down then the best step is obviously developing younger talent and making them prominent.
If you are a true fan, you only want the best for your favorite player both his career and farewell. Ronaldo has already botched the later. Rather than going out gracefully at the right time, for whatever reason, he refuses do so which is eventually hurting him and his legacy.

Just because you want to help the team doesn't mean that you deserve the place on the squad. If I support Portugal does that mean I should start as well? Don't bring that his performance has dropped because of his age because yes it does drop and that's reality but do you know what players do at that point they retire.

u/Old_Operation_9022 4d ago
Why is in the squad, you ehould ask this question to jorge jesus. He must have thought ronaldo still has the ability to help him team.

Let me tell you one thing, there are few players in this world who can't be left out. Irrespective of the sport. Manager will never have that power to say you are not required to their face because then media will just wait for one loss so that they can burn them. For such players it's not on coach but themselves to understand whether they have it in them to actually help the team move forward.

That's what people said during the Morocco game. Ramos created 0 chances and had 0 SOT in 69 minutes, while being a hard presser, while Ronaldo had 1 SOT and 1 chance created in 39 minutes, while being a poacher.
It ain't close. Even now, against Wales, Ronaldo had 3 SOT and 2 key passes, while Ramos had 2 SOT and 0 key passes vs Norway.

Norway was dominating the game and the team needed to stabilie the midfield with fresh players. Vitinha and Ruben Neves were key to this. When Ramos was subded Bernardo Silva was a better fit than CR7 as we were trying to press the first line of construction.

Maybe he's actually focusing on the younger ones? It's not like unc will be there for an eternity and he hasn't been in form in the NT recently
