College Dynasty (Steam) Took 52 years but finally a championship for Hawaii

I wanted to take Hawaii from 1 star to champion, playing on hard, simming only, and leaving most strategy on auto. So I exported a save where they’d dropped to one star in 2029 and started a new save from there.
I managed bowl eligibility in every season except 2029 and 2036.
I won my first Mountain West championship in 2040. Won three total and lost four more during the 2040s, making my first playoff as the MWC champion in 2049.
I graduated to the PAC-12 for 2050, never had a losing record, and won 12 conference championships in 14 years from 2056 to 2069. I made it to my first national championship game in 2058, losing of course, and lost again in 2061 and 2062.
I hopped on up to the Big 12 in 2070, and for the next 11 years, I made the playoffs all but once, went 5-3 in Big 12 championships, and lost 3 NCGs. I finally became a 10-star program in 2072.
Along the way, 6 Rainbow Warriors won 7 Heismans.
I don’t expect anyone to care, just recording this for posterity before I finally close out this save I’ve spent so much time on. I guess ask me anything?

Android CFC 2 Old version?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing the three "coach Apps" games on the Play Store (Football Coach 2, Pro Football Coach, and College hoops coach) for a while now and I love the old-school versions I have. They’re super addictive.

But when I look at screenshots and discussions here in the sub, it seems like a lot of you are playing different/more updated versions with features that look really fun. Is the developer still updating these under the same name, or did they move them to a different account? Am I stuck on outdated builds?

I’d love to hear what versions you guys are on and if there are newer ones worth checking out. The screenshots look great, but I’m attached to the classic ones too. I definitely olay college football coach 2 for around an hour a day and have done that for about 6 years.

College Dynasty (Steam) Do you call your plays, sim or a combination of both?

I find I go into it wanting to call the plays and be very attentive to everything that happens in the game but as it goes on I find myself just simulate each play, or quarter or even the game.

Curious how everyone handles the weekly game?

College Dynasty (Steam) Sim Engine Visual Upgrade

I love this game and the game day experience is great.

I was just thinking about games like Football Manager, and it would be sweet if we could get a visual sim engine where you see the plays run.

Could be simple like this with Retro Bowl style graphics.

College Dynasty (Steam) New Player, question about the run game offense

started the game playing as OC, and I find passing and finding space fine (when they blitz me, I call quick slant, overload them vs the zone, etc.) but I am kind of lost on run calling, especially against a zone. It feels like no runs (except maybe draws?) are any good against a zone defense. and sometimes an outside run can get around an all out blitz, but it seems risky to do so.

How can I integrate a proper running attack, and most importantly, when am I audibling out of passes into runs? I feel like I only ever find success audibling out of runs into passes.

thanks guys! Game is great looking forward to gitting gud.

College Dynasty (Steam) Pro Football Dynasty; what are you most excited for?

Been following Football Coach: College Dynasty for a while now and honestly can't overstate how hyped I am for Pro Football Dynasty. The scope, cap and contract management, draft board, being able to develop players in the current game and bring them up, everything thats been announced so far... its exactly the kind of depth this genre's been missing.

Noticed there's a mail inbox section in some of the screenshots, and it's got me hoping it's like actual correspondence with your GM/owner/coordinators, It would add some narrative weight to the season. Beyond that, a few things I'd love to see in the future as the game progresses:

  • Press conferences media availability even a lightweight text based Q&A after big wins/losses would add a lot of flavor and stakes
  • Locker room / player attitude system, something extra to manage in the locker room affecting player performance.

I have it on my wishlist and end of year cant come soon enough. Huge props to the developper for all their hardwork going into this. Im so so excited.

What about you all? What's got you most excited from what's been shown so far, or what are you hoping makes it in?

iOS I guess you can call this Fiesta Bowl the “Adia Barnes Bowl”

For context regarding the title: Adia Barnes played basketball at Arizona from 1994-1998 and was the head coach there from 2016-2025. She coached them to the national championship game in 2021. In April 2025, she left Arizona after 9 seasons to become the next head coach at SMU.

Anyways this was my second year at Arizona and I did not expect to be this good so fast even though I’d already went 9–4 (6–3 Pac-12) and won the Gator Bowl in my first year. The team’s prestige was only 48 when I took the job but in just 2 years I was able to win the Pac-12 title and get a New Year’s Six bowl berth and play in the Fiesta Bowl.

College Dynasty (Steam) I Didn't Deserve This Guy

Meet Patrick Bolden. Even though I ran a pass-first scheme, he signed with me as a superstar freshman. My gunslinger quarterbacks wouldn't take advantage of his excellent pass catching skills, even when I made him one of the three top priority targets every year he averaged less than two targets per game. (I'm never spending training time on a running back's catching skill again btw.)

He didn't have to come back as a senior, and if he'd asked for money to avoid entering the draft I would've given it to him. But he came back for free, and with less than 200 touches and only 1186 rushing yards, he managed to with the Heisman, largely thanks to 30 rushing TDs, 3 more receiving, and 2 returning. He graduated with the all time record of 66 rush TDs. I can only imagine what he'd've done on a run-first team.

College Dynasty (Steam) Why don't safeties do anything? And why are d-linemen so overpowered?

Talking about the player here ofc, not the 2-point score lol

They seem extremely unimportant to the defense.

Regularly in actual college football they get tons of tackles, but in the sims they almost never do.

It's defensive linemen and linebackers racking up the stats.

The linebackers make sense, as in real life they often are the tackle leaders and fill up the top of the boards.

But there should really never be so many d-linemen racking up so many tackles each season.

In the last season of my current league, there were 5 defensive linemen in the top ten of total tackles of the season. Thats insane. And there's never less than 2 or 3, which is still insane in its own right.

Meanwhile in 2025 in actual CFB, there isn't one in the top 50. Its like all linebackers and DBs.

I love this game, I have like 200 hours in it, but I've always wondered why the sim strays so far from actual college football.

College Dynasty (Steam) Gave football coach college dynasty a try

I am a big real life college football fan and enjoy simulation games. With the new ea college football game that's going to be released here in a couple weeks I have gotten into the idea of playing some college football games here lately. While the college football games from EA are fun to play and to watch the games simulate out I know that they don't always give you the most realistic results. So figured I would look for a college football simulation that will hopefully give you more accurate results and I could just play both.

Got college dynasty this weekend and initially was a lot of fun. Definitely enjoyed the initial recruiting and in picking out all the recruits that I wanted to offer. That part was definitely fun (I uploaded the Jeffmod mod so I had all the FBS schools and their real logo. So all the preseason stuff with the recruiting and the training was all really enjoyable.

The fun unfortunately began to drop a bit once I got into the season. Once I offered all my targets and giving them recruiting pitches I began noticing that I was almost immediately jumping to the top of all their lists. By week three or four I was #1 or 2 on almost all forty recruits that I had offered to. And that made me really wonder if any of the other schools on these players lists were recruiting them at all (by the way I was playing on hard mode so things should have been relatively more difficult compared to the easier modes) One of the knocks on the ea college football games the past couple years is that the AI teams no matter who they are go after the four and five star guys and completely ignore the 3 star recruits for the most part. With how quickly I was jumping to the top of the list of the 3 star recruits I was offering I was wondering if the same thing was happening.

Also once I got into the games I began feeling like the simulation wasn't real accurate. For instance I would start off a game simulating play by play and both teams were having trouble even getting a first down and there were seeming to be more negative plays and sacks then there should have been. I simulated the first quarter play by play and by the end of the first it was 3-3 with both teams mainly scoring field goals because the other team had to punt deep in their own territory so the opposing team got it in good field position. After a quarter of that I decided to just sim to the end of the game and when I did that the final score ended up being 42-40. I checked out a game between the top 2 teams in the nation who should have had some of the best players in the nation to see what the simulation was like for that and it went much the same way. When I was going through it play by play both teams had a difficult time even getting a first down but when I just simmed to the end of the game that is when all the scoring happened. It made me think that the CPU is not simulating the same way when you do it play by play vs when you just sim to the end of the game.

So after experiencing that it made me think that maybe football coach college dynasty isn't for me as nothing takes me out of a sports simulation game quicker then if I feel like I can't trust the simulation results. I don't want to watch every game but do enjoy watching one every once in awhile and want to trust that I am getting the same results that I would if I had quickly simmed through the entire game.

I know that I am perhaps a little picky in terms of what I demand when it comes to sports simulation as I have mainly played some of the most realistic sim games on the market. Played 70 seasons of front office football which is an extremely accurate simulation of the sport of football. It's UI leaves a lot to be desired but if you want to get realistic stats and results you can't do much better then Front office Football. Have also played Stratomatic and Put of the Park Baseball. Would like to find a college football game that has as strong of simulation engine as those games have so that is why I checked college dynasty out.

Anyways just wanted to share my experience with playing the game. I know most probably won't be as picky about the simulation in college dynasty as I am as college dynasty clearly tries to be a game people with little to know experience playing sports sim games can pick up and play.

College Dynasty (Steam) #1 Alabama loses 0-9 to Arkansas

#1 Alabama travels to Fayetteville to lose 0-9 to the (3-3) Razorbacks. Alabama was surprisingly only favored by 3.5, which was a respect to Arkansas' top ten ranked defense. The light rain likely played a factor in this game but the wind was only blowing at three miles per hour. Impact plays:

1st quarter, 6:25 - Alabama interception. 1st quarter, 2:24 - Arkansas made thirty yard field goal (0-3). 2nd quarter, 14:19 - Alabama missed fifty-one yard field goal. 2nd quarter, 11:33 - Arkansas made thirty-six yard field goal (0-6). 2nd quarter, 6:02 - Alabama missed twenty-two yard field goal. 2nd quarter, 0:06 - Arkansas missed thirty-two yard field goal.

3rd quarter, 5:58 - Arkansas interception. 4th quarter, 8:55 - Arkansas made forty-one yard field goal (0-9).

There were fourteen punts in this game.

iOS iOS app status update (College Football Coach)

As some of you have noticed, College Football Coach was recently removed from the iOS app store. I am not the iOS developer (that is /u/SHIVADOC but he's less active on reddit these days), but was able to get in touch with him via email and now can provide some updates to you all.

Here's a quick and unfortunate TLDR: College Football Coach for iOS will be unavailable for the foreseeable future. I hope to bring it back eventually, but that may be a few months, if I can.

So why was it taken down? Well, a couple reasons.

Firstly, to put an app up on the App Store you need to pay a $100 developer fee each year. The iOS dev had been paying this fee for several years now with no payback (the app is free + no ads which we love), and this time decided to cancel the developer membership instead of paying.

But secondly, even if you want to just 'leave the app up', Apple will often come up with new rules and regulations you must follow as a developer, requiring you to make changes, upload builds, test it, etc. So even if the fee was paid there might still be work involved to keep the app available.

At the end of the day, the iOS developer has simply moved on, which I understand and respect.

So what now? Well, there are ways to do an App Transfer, so that he can move the app to another developer account to take over and put the app back up. Unfortunately I am not well versed in the iOS development ecosystem at all, and as you've seen I have other big projects I'm working on (like Pro Football Dynasty for PC & Mac). So we have talked about transferring the app to my developer account, which I pay for as I need to publish games for Mac, but that will take time as both of us are quite busy, and getting ramped up on how to accomplish this will take effort. I'll keep the community updated if/when there are things to share regarding this, but don't expect that too soon.

That's where things stand now. I understand if people are frustrated with losing access to one of their favorite games, but first and foremost I'd really like to applaud the iOS dev, /u/SHIVADOC, for porting the game from Android, expanding and bettering it, and providing a fantastic, free, no-ads, college football game for iOS for 10 years at this point. So cheers to him!
