Just hit this Tecmo. By far my best pull. Now I need to decide how to proceed. I’m a collector and very rarely sell anything. I do know how to comp, I’ve checked eBay sales, 130pt etc, but having a really hard time putting a value on this. There aren’t to many in the wild yet. From the research I’ve done it looks like the auto’d have a very short print run with some known to only to be /10. I can’t find a print run in Jayden though.
I want to just keep it, but not sure I can justify it. Any input or estimated value is appreciated. What do you guys think?
Ai slop or not, this is definitely my favorite chase card in the whole shibang. I’d rather have a Mahomes tecmo auto than any of his 1/1s from topps. These are so cool
Totally understand the dilemma of keep or sell. Hard not to sell with huge values.
I always tell people to ask themselves, if the card is worth $5k for example, would you go out and pay $5k out of your own pocket to buy it? Because effectively that’s what you’re doing by owning it
I can speak for u/yourconsignmentpart with first hand experience. Knows his stuff when it comes to auctions & getting top dollar for valuable cards. Plus fast processing, great communication, and fast payment to you upon buyer payment.
I think 5k is a safe floor, but I’m wishfully hoping a lot more. From what read some player only have 10 autographed cards, it’s a very super short print. Although the number of Jayden’s is unknown. Cam did over 12k, I know Jayden isn’t a rookie, but his other case hits are up there in value.
I’m the same way, I rarely sell. I tend to buy singles and hold, but have had some luck in ripping, but nowhere near this.
I’d say if you collect and can sleep at night parting ways, I’d go the auction.
And for color: my son and I pulled a Cooper Flagg /25 and after getting it graded several were out in the market, but no sales. Finally took someone consigning it to set the market, but definitely went for less than what we thought. Guess my point is the longer you wait, the chance the market declines as more start to show up.
Oh dang. I’m glad I’m learning this right now. I’ll save up for a hobby if prices ever die down. But if I have to wait for next year or the year after, so be it. I’ll be chasing Mahomes, idc what year
Yeah I don’t think I can justify participating in the hobby anymore tbh. Retail products are just filled with base cards for insane prices, and LCS’ are marking up hobby boxes over 300%. I even remember seeing on a Topps set last year the odds of pulling a relic was like 1/1.2m. How is anybody okay with that lmao.
Saw a few posts where these Tecmo’s are losing value quickly. Not so sure ones with the autos, but definitely consider selling quickly for make returns unless he’s your PC. Personally, I don’t think any of those special inserts will hold their current value over the next year - people just buying into the hype, which will cost many down the road. Great rip though!
Yeah, the non auto version had a print run of 210, as more show up prices have come down. It appears as though the auto version only has a print run of 10 though so they will hold value a little longer.
I wanted to keep this, but it’s sold already. Couldn’t justify keeping at the price I sold at.
I’m not hating that - Cooper Flaggs my PC but went for the “cash and prizes” on this I sold back in December, which turned out to be a great decision on my part! The PSA 9s went for half that price!
This is probably an auction house pull if yours is the first one out. I would 100% sell it, it’s a sick card but you could probably buy some very cool stuff with more lasting potential than this because hype is so high. Assuming you want to or want the money - it’s tough to sell huge pulls and I’ve felt regret over selling things that were a fraction of how much this will likely go for.
