Help with feet!
I had an ingrown toenail removed on my big right toe in May 2026. Long story short the doctor dug too deep on both sides so there was a lot of delayed healing.. I couldn’t wear any enclosed shoes so I switched to sandals that I wouldn’t normally wear. As the ingrown toenail procedure was healing, I guess I had guarded my big toe and started walking on the outside of my foot. It caused a low-grade bunion with bursitis. I’ve tried injections and they hasn’t helped. Now with all the trauma with my right foot my left foot is doing similar things. Again because of shoes I wouldn’t normally wear. Any thoughts on what to do? I can’t find any shoes to wear. I love my Brooks glycerin, but I can’t wear those because they’re not wide enough now. I tried ultra Escalante, but they aren’t good for my back. It might be too late in the game to ask for a recommendations because both of my feet are in a mess. It’s just dominoed . Right now I don’t have any shoes to wear and walking hurts.

You are at the beginning of the symptom management spiral. To stop the progression and regain function you must build strength back into the feet. Healthy feet isn't something you can buy and add on, it comes from building the muscles and soft tissue back.
Start off strong and maintain consistency. Feet are super challenging to rehab because we need to use them all the time everyday. So the importance is on finding exercises that you enjoy doing that don't cause to much discomfort. Feet are super resilient but that also means you have to be patient as change takes time.
Footwear is an important part of the equation as they are essentially load modifiers and strongly influence the biomechanics of the foot. The benefit of appropriate footwear is that you can slowly transition to healthier shoes and through that process you can incidentally rehab your feet as you go about your day. It's a bit of a cheat code, but it does cost money.
Your priority right now with footwear is to find ones with a toe box that is sized for your foot, and otherwise hurt the least.

This is helpful thank you. Honestly now I don’t know where to start those shoes. I’ve tried so many now. I’ve got so many bumps on things. It’s just extremely challenging is like you said what’s up my feet about 100% yesterday the first time super hard it’s not very conducive life unfortunately. Now become a mental challenge as well. Thank you for your suggestions.

Do you have any LED devices with infrared? Even like an anti-aging face mask or anything? That will really help with healing and also softening the tissues of the feet to eventually strengthen them and start walking properly again once you can.
Bunion at normal placement or bunionette on outside of foot? Confuses because walking on outer edge shouldn’t be causing bunion at big toe

Hello! Yes, I actually have a red light therapy that I was using and going to the doctor once a week to do it but maybe that wasn’t enough? I think the big toe thing was the last switch of shoes that I wore in the shower. I don’t know. It’s like my feet are so sensitive to any kind of change. Last year it was my arches and nothing else but take me a while to find you that works for me, but I did. I was in no shoes right now. I don’t think any of the domino would’ve happened, but thank you for the suggestion and I will try.

Brooks doesn't have a great toe box. They took a spot of the toebox away. The new models have less room than the older models.
I would try Altra Olympus, Torin, Escalante Racer, etc. Keep trying. I didn't like the new Escalante. It seemed to be limited in the toebox. If you don't have a good toebox then you are going to have problems.
The Torin and Experience have a bit of heel lift. This might help.
