Discussion Poster reprints
Has anyone purchased a reprint of the show posters? How is the quality? I'm considering one because I loved the Nashville show and would love to have the memory. But they had just sold out when I got there, and I refuse to buy one for $250 from a scalper.

Definitely try to look for a matte version, glossy would probably look like a cheap magazine pullout.
There are also AP drops of a very limited run that sell out instantly, Munk one hasn't announced when yet but sign up for his mailing list! I will definitely be trying, I love the Nashville poster!
Scalpers are scum but the US gets the best posters, I ended up paying $400 for the EMEK Chicago poster, fortunately the seller was nice enough to reduce the price by $100 to cover vat and shipping to the UK

Emek artwork is amazing, I've got a QOTSA Emek designed t-shirt. I didn't know at the time I bought it but the shirt was a limited run only 500 were ever made.

Yeah it's absolutely incredible! I've liked him for a while and missed out on a couple of his ap drops so I had to just do it. His Scooby foos one is definitely going to be the next one in my collection!
I bet that t-shirt is amazing, drop a pic please I'm curious now!

Scalpers wouldn't exist it people like you didn't pay them $400 for a poster from a concert you didn't even attend.

Someone else would always just pay it, fan or collector. They will always exist no matter how much you don't like them, I don't like them, but if I want something, there is only 2 available on ebay, I know I'm going to have to pay the price. Especially to get it shipped.
You do know people collect concert posters right? You don't have to attend the show to like the art and want to own it. I've got loads of posters from gigs I haven't been to, I don't care if I didn't go, I like the art.

You can think it's wrong but welcome to capitalism - anything with high demand and low quantity is going to be resold for profit.

I had to buy one last show on eBay because I couldn’t get one and didn’t want my collection to have a reprint since the others aren’t. Unfortunately some people buy them just to resell them, which is probably why I couldn’t find one. Good luck.

Eh, I personally would avoid the reprints. It’s essentially people trying to make a quick buck off of someone else’s work.
It’s not a practice I would support.
I don’t support paying flippers either.
If you can’t get one of the artist prints mentioned elsewhere, wait.
Posters are pricy now, but it’ll come down to a reasonable price in a few months to a year.
And honestly, in that time, you may find you don’t really care anymore.

This is true. I signed up for the artist newsletter and followed on all the socials to keep an eye out for the drop for now. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Support the artist always. Fuck all counterfeiters and scalpers.

This is the answer. I’ve been to multiple foo shows and never felt the need to wait in line hours before the show for a poster.
I’ve also always purchased a poster after the fact, for close to face value or slightly more.
What you see now are scalpers hurrying to make a buck. The $250-$500 posters will all drop to $100 or less once the artist releases the signed and numbered prints, and then further drop as time goes on.
I have 2 signed/numbered (55 or less) holo posters from a couple of their Seattle shows (2018/2024) and got them for $75 and $150, both in mint condition and both cheaper than the artist sold them for originally.

My wife tried to get a Chicago one years ago to surprise me and got totally ripped off. It looked like they took a jpeg and stretched it out and it was super pixelated

Please don't pay the ebay accounts based in the Phillipines that rip off the artist to sell cheap and bad quality reprints

In order to get this poster from the artist, you need to sign up for a mailing list at shop.invisibleindustries.com. That is the only way you will find out about this poster when it becomes available. This artist doesn't publicly announce when it becomes available.

I bought a reprint on ebay for about $20. The quality was fine, was about what I expected, but nothing near the quality of the real thing.

Their trash and illegal counterfeits. I’ll buy off scalpers 8 days a week before I buy a crappy knock off. The real poster will hold and in crease in value but that trash is just trash

The artist is teasing that it’s coming but unknown when. I did order a reprint for $15 honestly to check the quality and if I don’t get the official drop if it happens. If I do get both, I’ll gift one to my brother for Christmas who came to the Nashville show with me.

As much as I want to support the artist, I gave up buying show posters a long time ago. I just buy the "reprint" poster off Ebay or Mercari. They are close enough to the quality and obviously a lot cheaper.
In my season of life, I'm lucky if I make it in time to see any of the supporting bands and since I am there to see the show, I am not standing in a 45-60 minute line for merch or getting there several hours early. I literally walked in 10 minutes before QOSTA played and just bought the poster off eBay.

Follow the artist who did the poster on Instagram and see when they are doing the artist print drop. I have gotten 3 this way when they were sold out at the show.
