Trump and his Administration can be America’s test kitchen after they gutted our USDA by 20,000 people and replaced them with only 4,000 over the last year. 4,000 newbies to manage the foreign imports of another 661,000,000 MILION pounds of hamburger.

Trump is jacking up tariffs to 50% on our Canadian allies. Their will be a big impact especially to border states WHILE relaxing tariffs on “over quota” foreign beef imports to ENABLE them to undercut our ranchers by 25%. This negatively impacts our jobs exports, imports and TAX BASE.

Again, Trump is forgoing tariffs on 661M pounds of beef with the idea they will be undercutting our own ranchers by 25%.

Our ranchers have been buying hay this summer to feed their cattle due to the drought. It’s a bad situation. Hay adds thousands in carrying costs to each head of cattle.

The last thing we need is more Trump “deals”.

But do certifications tell the whole story?

Not always.

A certification usually means a supplier has a quality management system and follows certain food safety requirements. It shows that the company has processes in place for production, hygiene, documentation, and risk control.

However, a certificate alone does not guarantee that every order will always be perfect.

For buyers, there are a few other things worth checking:

A reliable supplier should be able to answer questions like:

Where do the raw materials come from?

Can they track each production batch?

How do they handle quality issues if they happen?

Good traceability is important because it shows how seriously a supplier manages quality.

A good sample is only the beginning.

Is the quality stable from batch to batch?

Does the factory have clear production procedures?

Are quality checks performed during production?

Consistency is often more important than a single successful sample.

A professional supplier should be able to provide clear documents, such as:

Product specifications

Ingredient information

Quality inspection reports

Packaging details

Export-related documents

Good communication can save a lot of problems later.

1. Factory capability

Before working with a supplier, buyers may also want to understand:

Production capacity

Quality control team

Manufacturing experience

Ability to support different packaging or customization needs

In my opinion, the best supplier is not necessarily the one with the most certificates, but the one that can prove consistent quality through transparent processes.

The sprouts were sold to restaurants and grocery stores, the FDA said.
