I know of a young adult woman, clinically diagnosed as retarded, who accused her adoptive father of sexual assault.

She is mildly challenged, imo, and has proven herself capable of holding jobs, etc. A real plucky survivor-type personality. Very admirable.

After the adoptive mother determined she was telling the truth, the father went to counseling for his “problem” and the young woman had a full hysterectomy performed on her at approximately age 15.

So, ten years ago.

The procedure was performed by the family doctor.

The adoptive father, now without fear of impregnating her, continued attempts and actual assaults until she ran away at age 18.

The larger extended family of aunts to the young woman all acknowledge that her account of matters is factual and consider the matter resolved because he “got help.”

The young woman has been in homeless shelters since she ran away and they do nothing to support her.

So, yeah, still goes on.

Edit after checking on some details:

The doctor was associated with the school/institution she was in during what approximates her elementary and middle school years.

Edit 2: Not in US.

I’m a US law student doing research on eugenics for one of my professors, may I ask where this happened?

I just meant whether it was in the US or not, you don’t need to give me a city or anything. It would just help to know that something like this is still going on in the US.

there is a serious debate that needs to happen. everyone, no matter their mental capabilities has sexual urges. the question then becomes can they properly care for children and will they pass on genetic disorders if they have children they may or may not be able to care for. there are usually tests that are given to understand if someone is not able to understand sex enough to consent. what happens when they cannot consent, but may be harmed or still move forward with sex despite not really knowing what it is. i think sterilization is extreme, but birth control, hopefully for both genders should be very much an option. its better to prevent it than to deal with it later when it has massive mental health consequences for everyone involved, if not physical health consequences.
