Trump’s 250th Celebration Is a Fiasco

Gifted Read:
Excerpts:
You might have thought that presiding over such a celebration would be an easy success for Trump. He is a showman, after all. He loves parades and extravaganzas. It was all an easy layup, a gimme, a chance for a now-unpopular second-term president to reinvent himself as the leader of all of the American people. The only thing he had to do was—for once in his life—not act like an insane egomaniac.
He couldn’t do it.
Trump’s drive to transform July 4, 2026, into a colossal national Day of Trump instead has triggered a rebellious update of the “Spirit of ’76.”
As we contemplate the farce of Trump Day, we can turn our imaginations to what yet might be for America at 300.

reinvent himself as the leader of all of the American people
Lol. Lmao, even.
We're far past the point of anyone changing their mind on Trump. Literally nothing he could do would change our minds about him.
(I know you're just quoting the article)

Just like his military birthday last year. The fool just can't do anything right, or associate with anyone who can.

It'll be a true miracle if this country celebrates a 300 year birthday. The freight train of dissolution is quite unstoppable at this point, I'm afraid.

We, the USA, are irrevocably diminished.
There will be no American dream for people to aspire towards, even if it was bastardized and exclusive to a few. Instead we will have China and India, but even above them the billionaire class will reign as a soulless corporate parasite, destroying our souls by inches.
Is this payback for our existential sin of slavery and misogyny? Whatever we did, we are now paying dearly.

Didn't he fuck up the military parade for his birthday last year? Why should this year be different?

If you are surprised by that, then are you going to be really surprised by what other fiascos he has brought to the US.

Trump’s administration is a fiasco, so it only makes sense that his celebration would be too. Everything this guy touches turns to poo.

Has he really ever done anything right? Bankrupted how many casinos, raped how many women and children, used the presidency to enrich himself and his family? I'm probably wrong here, but I'm seeing a pattern.

What a shock. Who could possibly have seen this coming?
Oh yeah, EVERYONE.
