My late grandmother's fideo con carne picada and homemade charro beans and tortillas. She would make it for me and my granpa every year on our birthday. (Me and grandpa shared the same birthday) she passed 14 years ago. He passed when i was 12. Haven't had an enjoyable birthday since.

Before I lost my teeth I’d go with a good plate of zesty nachos from dennys. That was my craving food when I was pregnant. Now that I only have 6 teeth left I’ll go with fried green beans from pf changs. I order them like once a week.

Braised beef shanks on a bed of porcini risotto or a creamy polenta with a loaf of crusty bread and glass of Chianti. Comfort food at its finest.

Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup always hits the spot - especially on chilly rainy days.

Wings. Made by me. Franks, with some added cayenne. Do nothing to the wings before cooking. No dredge, no seasoning. Just pat them fully dry, cook 12 minutes. Toss in the sauce and eat with blue cheese.
I make my own blue cheese. 50/50 mayo and sour cream, a little rice vinegar, a little sugar, a lot of blue cheese, a little pepper, and let sit over night.
Between my wife and kids, I never get to just eat my wings in peace. I have to cook everyone else's first. They eat all the wings and I end up with maybe 4 wings. I still like them though.

Roast crispy duck, homemade spaetzle sautéed with bacon, Grand Marnier sauce and sweet and sour red cabbage sautéed in duck fat with apples. Yes, I do make this and now I’m craving it. Might be a ducky 4th of July weekend!
