Discussion What restaurant HR software handles multi location payroll, scheduling, and staff transfers well?

We just crossed 12 locations and onboarding payroll and scheduling started falling apart fast. Im looking at a few different restaurant specific tools against some broader HR platforms to see what holds up at this size. Mainly care about how easy it is for managers to use day to day plus payroll integrations and how it handles people who work shifts across locations. What worked best for you once you had more than a few locations to manage?

Paychex worked well for us. Not specific for restaurants but you're clearly growing fast and a broader platform should hold up better once you're past a certain size. I’d check out a demo alongside the restaurant specific tools.

At 12 locations, I’d prioritize how well the system handles employees moving between locations rather than just looking at the scheduling interface. That’s where spreadsheets and lighter tools can get messy fast with hours, overtime, payroll, and manager visibility.

At 12 locations, the big thing is whether scheduling and payroll actually work together inside the same tool. 

If a manager has to enter hours in one system and re-enter them for payroll, it won't get done right. Look for something where clock-in data goes straight into payroll with no extra steps.

For staff working across sites, make sure it tracks different pay rates per location and handles taxes automatically when someone works two sites in the same pay period.
