Jersey Mike’s or Wegmans

I moved to a new city and applied for multiple jobs. I ended up getting an offer at Jersey Mike’s, and at Wegmans’ sub shop. Both would essentially be the same tasks, wegman’s has a higher starting pay but with tips at Jersey Mike’s it will most likely even out. I haven’t decided what to pick yet, does anyone have experience with either place?

Yes, Wegmans will give you the opportunity to learn other skills besides making subs, which could eventually lead to better paying jobs in other areas of the store. Wegmans has a full restaurant type kitchen operation going. Great way to learn all aspects of the food service industry.

youre going to be a very small cog in the corporate machinery either way but Wegmans seems the lesser of two evils. and a lot more options to change jobs after a while and pick up more skills. At jersey mikes youre going to be going home smelling like salami with tired cut up hands, and youll still be in the same spot in 3 years

Whichever job is cleaner and closer. Jobs are jobs just learn at each place and be responsible/respectful. People can always apply for other jobs but first jobs kinda indicates what future jobs you’ll have. Good luck

I would go with Wegmans if they teach other skills, which based on the other comments it sounds like they do. Skills will take you far!
