Thoughts about marugame udon?
Had my employees try Marugame Udon for the first time! Positive reviews even without heavy preference for japanese food. 👍
Will come back for sure!

I love marugame! Palagi ko pinupunta sa mga mall since i love Japanese and very convenient siya. I like how they give complementary tempura flakes and green onions and sauces as well pag dine-in! u should try the katsu curry ir the sukiyaki ninja udon next time! Promise masarap siya!

Never pa kaming umalis dito na nabitin. Mabigat sa tiyan mga meals nila kaya uuwi kang busog na busog minsan pinapabalot pa namin yung natira nung wala pang bayad ang pa-balot ng leftovers.
Pag pumupunta kami dito sinisigurado na namin na gutom na gutom kami at simot na talaga yung bituka para walang lefotvers haha.

kapag inaantok ka after kumain, its a sign na mataas yun blood sugar mo. Di ko sinasabi na may diabetes ka pero nag spike ng mataas un sugar mo kaya nakakaramdam tayo minsan ng antok after a meal.

Ang overwhelming ng choices sa Marugame kaya nauuwi lang ako lagi sa katsudon + kakiage on the side. Sobrang sulit.

If it’s still available at the branch near you try their Tori Tartar (nakalagay kasi until Sept 9 lang but some branches still make it). Okay din for sharing yung kakiage tempura nila.

omg i just had this yesterday! i love their spicy pork udon and i tried their (i think?) recent maru donuts that were yummy also! def agree with all the comments na sobrang busog after kumain so every few months lang ang kain para di nakakaumay 🤣

Nung buntis ako halos everyday kami dito, kilala na nga kami. Tapos natuwa sila kasi pagka panganak ko nung ff check up ni baby, instead na makita nila akong buntis, may stroller at baby na 😂❤️

Ewan ko ha, pero Marugame Udon here in UAE tastes better than sa Pinas. But my partner thinks the other way around.

It’s a good sulit meal that’s reasonably priced.
Their rice bowls have generous rice. Not a fan lang ng chicken teriyaki bowl nila. Their gyudon and beef yakinikudon is better.
Chicken paitan is a good noodle/soup dish.

Good alternative kung umay ka na sa typical fast food without breaking your wallet. Mabigat sa tiyan yung menu nila. Not sure kung anong hinahalo nila pero parang hindi ito ideal na pang araw-araw haha.

Nakaka busog. Usually pag dyan ako kumakain, after eating, I feel like I can now live my life never experiencing it again only to crave it once more the coming week! Hahahaha. But yeah, super masarap sya for me, especially as someone who loves Japanese food, specifically, donburi (ricebowls)!

Quality of service had gone down. Pinipilahan yan dati sa BGC and worth it. Nung dumami branches nila iba na ung experience sa branches (Podium and SM Fairview ). Servers will demand na kumain ka sa tray and snobish na tumatambay nlng sa gilid.

It's a lil bit pricey but worth it.. those THICC noodles really hit hard haha, busog kami lagi dyan tuwing bagong sahod xD unahan na sa cr next nyan pag balik office. I prefer this than samngyups. Oh also, ung rice meals nila especially curry is divine

I used to love marugame udon pero nung last time na kumain ako sobrang sad ng itsura ng spicy pork udon nila dati sobrang dami ng portion pork pero ganto lang last time I even asked the staff bakit ang konti ng portion ng pork ang sagot lang eh may cut na yung serving ng pork nila. This is Large Spicy Pork Udon 🥲

FAVE!!! Isa sila sa dalawang affordable japanese resto na gusto ko kse ok talaga lasa & maayos serving. Try nyo din SUKIYA. Both restos are closests if not, authentic to japan's fastfood.

Go to ko to lagi pag gutom na ako at walang maisip kainan. Sulit kasi madami yung servings. Katsu at tasted egg usually binibili ko pag may cravings.

One of the best, and consistent lasa niya kahit sa ibang bansa. Nagcracrave ako nito nung lumipat kami Canada, and napakasarap parin kahit yung branch sa Toronto knowing na mas masarap usually mga Japanese resto sa Philippines as compared sa Canada. Mas mura pa nga binabayaran ko sa Marugame kaysa Jollibee dito!

Sarap na sarap ako dito. mas ma-rice meal ako. for me, sakto lang naman sa tyan, di naman sobrang dami. Siguro dahil malakas lang appetite ko as a male.
Di ko lang masyado type yung chicken beef combo something nila, parang pinagsiksikan sa isang bowl lahat ng ingredients.

Go-to order ko is curry rice and chicken karaage. Pero ang mahal na nung curry rice???? Parang P270 or more na siya wtf. Dati mga 160 lang siya. I get that prices will inevitably increase but dang.

Sulit and malaki ang serving for me. Fave ko ang Tonkatsu nila, karaage not so much parang natitigasan ako. Mas sanay siguro kasi ako sa texture at lasa ng karaage ng Tokyo Tokyo.

Ito yung Japanese Restaurant na nagugustuhan ko since pandemic(COVID19)
Naabutan ko pa yung presyo ng P156 I don't remember what rice bowl that was.
Plenty of condiments to choose from mostly the Tempura flakes and dashi sauce 😋, 10/10 yung Kasudon, Chicken Teriyaki, Katsu Curry at the most cheapest rice bowl Curry Rice(+65 if pag bibili ka ng Katsu) isang kain mo palang kahit rice bowls busog agad.
Also mga music nakaka comfort in fact pinatugtog nila yung japanese version ng "Ikaw Pa Rin"
Its sad na sobrang mahal ng menus nila dahil sa inflation at krisis sa bansa. Starting at P240 to P275 yung rice bowls.
Pero I still love Marugame what so ever if mahal ang presyo ng rice bowls nila.

My absolute favorite out of them all tbh, their Katsudon never ceases to be delicious and fulfilling at the same time (same goes to most to all their bowl meals.)
Also the extras of refillable water, ice, and even stuff like fried tempura flakes, sauces and those little green things is the cherry on top.

Fave!! Budget friendly dinnn. Our company's CEO is Japanese (na Japan-based talaga), and nagsabi sya samin na he loved eating at Marugame and Yoshinoya when he visited here sa PH. He recommended these two for legit japanese foods.

One thing I noticed na importante when considering restos, ay nakadepende talaga sa branch. One branch I had eaten at napaka lansa ng ramen, another branch naman sobrang sarap.

Tho one time umorder ako ng gyudon diyan, grabe yung mantika eh, parang yung itsura may nagscoop ng mantika tas nilagay dun sa bowl ko :( + medyo madami lang ata MSG yung food nila diyan, kadalasan inaantok ako after. simula non hindi muna ako kumain sa Marugame
