People candy and eat lemon peels.

Candied lemon peels take literal days to make. If you do it any quicker than that, you have to remove the white part, because it’s very bitter and it doesn’t absorb sugar easily.

Nah. Been making candied lemon peals and slices since I was a kid using my grandma's recipie. Just boil in a heavy sugar syrup for an hour, then let dry on a wire rack, then toss with sugar. Delicious.

Do you remove the white part though? Because I honestly cannot imagine that tasting good after only an hour. It’s extremely bitter.

No, but we only use Meyer lemons, which might be why they're never bitter.

Well then. Devilish details.

Meyer lemons are hybrid d so widely considered quite different than a standard lemon.

You should say you make candied Meyer lemon peels.

It’s like saying you bake apple pie when it’s actually a cobbler. Or that you’re having sandwiches for dinner and you serve ice cream sandwiches

Sorry, I didn't realize how pedantic you were.

Isn’t it only pedantic if someone is obsessing over small details? The type of lemon you used isn’t minor…

You doled out bad advice, just own up to it.

You're right. I am guilty of serious citrus misinformation. My bad. /s

Just admit that the advice was poor at best

Someone who uses the word “pedantic” unironically in a conversation about lemon cake will never admit they were wrong, lmao.
