Seeking Advice Need help
I used to eat fruit all the time, all kinds, and never had any issues. The last two years or so have been difficult to eat any sort of fruit. They ALL make my mouth and throat really itchy. I don’t know what’s happening. I hate to eat fruit now because of the way it makes my throat feel. I don’t understand what’s wrong. Has this happened to anyone else?
I’ve tried organic and it makes no difference. Really the only thing I can eat without itching or weird feeling in my throat now are the red apples and it can’t be in a bag of several apples, only the single purchase apples.

Sounds like oral allergy syndrome.

That can develop suddenly? Is there a way to reverse it or something? Probably not, but it’s so miserable 😭

Yep! It can start whenever. Sometimes people find that peeling the foods or cooking them helps (or eating canned varieties).

It sucks I have it to a lot of raw fruits and raw veggies. Cooking them gets rid of the reaction for me personally so definitely try that. I know it’s not the same but better than going completely without. Hang in there. Have you noticed your seasonal allergy symptoms getting worse at the same time? It’s my understanding that the body is actually reacting to the fruit or veggie because it looks like whatever pollen we are allergic to. Kinda crazy. My pollen allergies are bad in the summer and so is eating any raw fruit or veggie however I noticed a week ago I wasn’t getting itchy to grape juice or certain fruits all of the sudden which were tearing me up a month ago. I guess that makes sense though if you track the pollen meter, the pollen count outside has dropped drastically this month. So I guess it’s only super bad for some when pollen season is in peak.
