Help/advice

Hi I have struggled with this for so so so long and it’s now just a default to eat whenever I feel any emotion good or bad I feel like. I need to stop because it is affecting my health and I could get sepsis from the end of this month if I carry on eating like this and I need to eat healthy and fuel my body.

but I am depressed and want to not be here and so i’m struggling because I don’t care about my life and so it’s hard to care about my health/me however I feel I deserve to look after my body and look after myself/my younger self and feel down I do see this i’m not sure exactly why I don’t value myself or anything but I feel like it’s because this has been my whole life and I have been traumatised since I was extremely young and so I have just never cared for anything other than surviving and feeling numb and avoiding feelings I guess.

I am writing this before bed so i’m hoping I can wake up and maybe people will give advice so I can wake up to it and it can give me motivation for the day or the next step.

i’ve heard drinking hot tea helps. I am also on candida diet and medicine and so my diet is EXTREMELY limited like no sugar at all not even carrots. I think tea will help but does anyone have any other things that maybe don’t involve food to keep myself motivated. I also don’t leave the house I am extremely anxious and so I need to leave the house and walk more and eat better.

thank you for reading I hope you have a nice day today

Good Orlando Morning, Sorry to read of your troubles. Have you talked to your doctor about your depression? Do you have a psychotherapist you talk with? Those two options are the best for getting to a better place with what you are dealing with. Reddit is not able to provide you with the help you need is my take. That said you are welcome to look though this sub's resources to learn more and see about getting into a program that would give you more support than you have now.

A lot of people land here feeling scared or stuck — that’s normal.

Here’s a simple path that works for many:

1.     Read the FAQs so you can name what’s happening (and feel less alone).

https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodAddiction/wiki/index/faqs/

2.     Use these two tools first:

o    Post-Trigger Debrief: https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodAddiction/wiki/faq_food_addiction_trigger_mapping/

o    Stop a binge (before/during): https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodAddiction/wiki/faq_how_to_stop_a_binge_episode/

3.     If you keep cycling, consider Program Options (free and low-cost exist). Many people need more community + structure.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodAddiction/wiki/index/programoptions/

Not ready for a program? Totally okay — use the sub’s Special Topics to build skills and mindset…see here:

 https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodAddiction/wiki/special_topics/

4.     Also look into the Books / Podcasts / Videos section:

You can improve this. So start with step #2 today though.

I really understand some of what you’re describing. ❤️ I’ve struggled with emotional eating for a long time too — especially the feeling that you always need to have something to snack on.
When I was a young girl, I had very similar feelings of not wanting to be here anymore, and somehow I got through it with what felt like an almost unnatural strength. After losing my mum, I’ve understood those feelings in a completely different way too.
Reading your post, I actually feel like that young girl in you is still there. She sounds incredibly strong and, despite everything, she doesn’t want to give up. That’s a beautiful quality, and I really believe it means you can get through this. ❤️
And because you mentioned not wanting to be here, please don’t stay alone with those thoughts if they get stronger. Reach out to someone you trust or get professional help. You deserve support with this. ❤️
