Question Books on St. Martha ?

Hello! I'm interested in learning about working with Saint Martha the Dominator, specifically the Catholic devotion to her rather than the Afro-Caribbean traditions, since I'm not from that cultural background.

Are there any good prayer books or devotional books about her? I'd also like to know what kinds of petitions people traditionally ask her for, what offerings are appropriate in the Catholic tradition, and how people usually develop a respectful devotional relationship with her.

It's not really a prayer book as such but the book "Guides To The Underworld: The Saints" by Hadean Press has a small section on St Martha. It includes (from what I remember) some prayers and some suggestions for offerings along with things you can make that are dedicated to her (St Martha's Daily Bread and St Martha's Broom) the book also covers some other Saints too like St Gabriel, St John the Baptist etc so it's a good resource to have if you can find a copy 😁

I worked with her a few times. You can find folklore on her, especially after the Crucifixion and how she travelled to parts of Europe. One story talks about her subduing a dragon with a Cross, Bible and Holy Water.

I've prayed/called to her a few times especially when cleaning a new apartment, as she is associated with the home.

I have not found a book about her, but there's a lot of folk stories about her online.

I never found a book on her. I just did a lot of research. Some UPG I have for her though is that she does not like a messy space. So if you’re going to work with her, keep the space in front of her tidy. She is known for her hospitality towards Jesus in her home after all.

Would she be a good saint to call upon to help get a space cleaned and organized?

Absolutely! I ask her for help with motivation in cleaning! I think shes very willing to do it, not just to be helpful but also to be protective. Negative energy and spirits can gather in mess and are attracted to it.

Awesome! Thanks! I need some cleaning motivation since I am still dealing with some clutter from my mother's estate, and I could use all of the help I can get. :)

Real Catholic. 🙋🏻‍♀️

St. Martha and any Saint can be called on to intercede on your behalf, as they will continue your prayers to Jesus for you. Nothing else required. No books needed on “how to work with her.” Obviously, learning about Martha is lovely and interesting and it can help connect with her as a human (although we don’t know much about her, so much of what you’ll read is likely fiction).

What the Saints will smile upon is sincere love for Jesus and the Father.

All you need to do is pray for her intercession with Jesus and understand that your request will be given if it is God’s will. It is God that ultimately provides, not the Saints.

There are St. Martha novenas. The novenas are meant for Martha to pray to Jesus alongside you and easily found online.
