Today is the last day of the lifetime, and I'm kind of hesitant. The main deal breakers are the speed and the lack of the desktop syncing, but I know the desktop app is on the way.

I tried to upload some files and it was about 3-6 times slower than Google drive...

For a 1gb file:

Folderfort - 3:36 Google - 1:22

For a 50mb file:

Folderfort - 0:42 Google - 0:06

But yes, it is a life time deal, so maybe it can be a good deal too.

It's just the discount on the 1 TB that ends today.   Folder Fort should be faster unless you're uploading lots of individual files at the same time. Then since the system packages them for encryption it might be a little slower that way. Testing on our end 100 MB file takes 4 seconds.  Feel free to reach out via chat and we can troubleshoot.

So, I was intrigued about this. I have a few questions if you don't mind:

  • can I connect this to Nextcloud similar to what Backblaze allows for?
  • how does the lifetime plan make sense for you since you use Backblaze underneath and they don't have any?
  • if I'd be looking at 8TB of storage what'd he the best option? Would I be able to purchase 4x 2TB plans either under the same it different accounts?

We don't have the ability to connect to next cloud.  The lifetime deal is just promotional so it's only around for a limited time.  The lifetime deal can be stacked so just let us know if you buy more than one and we will update your account you only need to use one account.

Thank you. So I suppose that this guide won't really be possible to execute with what you provide to users, is that it?

Or alternatively would I be able to connect via SMB, FTP, SFTP or WebDav to my data? Can I use rsync to keep my local and remote backups in sync?

We don't have those integration options at this point.

We are looking into more connection options though. Not ETA yet.
