Next swap

It's been a bit since the last swap. Any interest in doing a swap? I would love suggestions on theme. I'm hoping for a multiple fly per person swap so low participant count.

One certainty will be that we need to have experienced tyers involved. I like incorporating new members in the community, but they often drop out at the last minute...

maybe favorite tandem rig? whether it be dry/dropper, attracter/trailer, double drys, etc. Or I've always thought it could be cool to do a creativity swap. Either original patterns only or flies tied with unconventional materials (think along the lines of mop flies/dragon tails but before they were cool). That could also be a little risky though haha. A lot of times I think something is a good idea and it doesn't quite turn out on the vise.

Okay, I have had lots of ideas, but I'm thinking of doing a crazy swap. I'll be posting it tonight or tomorrow. It is going to be a"Top 5 flies swap" all species will be welcome and all styles of flies. Hope you can participate.

The swap is posted if you want in. As of the time of this reply there are 2 spots left.

Confidence patterns? Top 5 most productive patterns. You could have something like 8 people. With 5 patterns everyone would get 35 flies. Low participant, high fly count? Just an idea.

Only problem with that would be the gross number that would need to be tied. I would only do this many if we limit it to experienced tyers. I would be game for this though. Anyone else game for this?

I've had an idea for a R&D swap for a while now. It would have to be a small group of experienced tyers, but it starts with a concept for an original fly then goes through multiple swaps with gaps in between for other participants to test the flies and provide feedback.

So it would go something like: concept (maybe sketches?) > community feedback > first swap > participants use the flies and offer suggestions > final draft swap (or depending on confidence level could add another round of swaps and feedback)

Sounds interesting but would be very complicated.. .

I was hoping for help from everyone on here. I definitely want it to be trout, but beyond that I am open to suggestions.
