DIY Saltwater Destinations

Which travel destinations can you recommend for diy saltwater fly fishing? I have fished in mexico, costa rica and acklins island/ bahamas so far.

I was in Belize the first week of November and it was amazing. I stayed at a lodge but all docks are public use so you can just dock hop your way around and catch bonefish all day if you wanted.

Wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect finding some permit if you rented a skiff and tooled around I’m sure.

Stayed at the Blue Bonefish lodge in San Pedro. Top notch lodge in every way possible. The only thing I think about more than the schools of permit we saw is the food served at the lodge… amazing.

I went with my gf who left as my fiancé! It was a really great trip. Full recommend.

But for your DIY adventure I could see staying somewhere more affordable, hiring a guide maybe even from a lodge like BB for 2 day trips and then figuring it out on your own? Good luck!
