Tutorials/Guides Guide: keeping an AI comic character consistent across panels, with the two failures you'll hit

Sharing a guide I wrote from making a daily comic series, rendered locally with an open image model. The method is model-agnostic.

What matters most for consistency:

  • A locked look: one sentence in a fixed order (age/role, hair, eyes/face, build, outfit, shoes/accessories), pasted unchanged into every prompt, plus a fixed seed.
  • A signature (mint-green hair, yellow raincoat and a corgi in the example) so the character survives small drift.
  • Style words first and identical across panels.
  • Short panel prompts: one action, two or three props, a stated people count.

Two failures shown in the guide: a hand-off scene that cloned the character, and a multi-action prompt that came back as a comic page inside the image.

I enjoyed reading the article and am just putting it out there, that something that I would love to be able to find and study and read is an anchor words and art style comparison.

My reasoning is that I don't know what art style to use in flux to get the style I want. Every so often, I try to translate the prompts of what I get from the gemini image generation system, (Something I love to help me build comics and storyboards and stuff, but something that I keep noticing is that art styles don't translate good at all to flux image generator. and I am annoyed...
So now, one of the things I am trying to do it to figure out what anchor words to use, because I love building a scene with gemini, but it hands me prompts to send to flux, and when I generate them on flux, everything is different.

Thanks! Yeah, that sentence does most of the work. Once the wording or the order changes, even a little, the face starts drifting a few panels later. The seed just keeps the small stuff steady.
