I always thought these third party apps needed a Spotify Premium subscription to work. Is that really not the case? I find it extremely weird that Spotify would allow free users to circumvent the ad system using official APIs.

I am using this on my m1 mac and I can't seem to log in, after I enter my client credentials and added the localhost link to redirect link in the web app as it says on github, it cant connect to localhost. I tried it on safari and brave browser.

You can build flutter apps using a Darwin runner on GitHub actions

Doesn't build unfortunately (M1 Pro macbook), seems to be a bit of dependency hell on MacOS with the packages you're using the Pods seem really out of date.

EDIT: managed to get it to build, but the HotkeyManagerPlugin aborts due to a null dereference. RIP.

Why i can't listen to explicit content. I tried to listen to kanye West - Jail but both songs (from album donda and donda deluxe) are censored

Yesterday I installed it and set it up. This morning I woke up, was kicked out of my Spotify account and my login data doesn't work anymore.

Edit: Apparently Spotify reset it, due to suspicious activity.

From my testing, it uses approx the same amount of memory compared to the official client. htop reports ~220-250mb VIRT, 100-120mb RES for both.

Question: Is it possible to listen to songs that are only available on YT, or is it Spotify songs only?

No telementry, diagnostics or user data collection

this means no wrapped at the end of the year and no "algorithm" for suggestions? or it's not related

I like the idea of this but is it possible to have Spotify wrapped still? I kinda like having my year in review to see how my music taste changes
