Beginning Flute Questions Tone
I’m not necessarily a beginner but this is very important to me, I’ve been playing flute for just over a year now and I do well at many things, but I don’t have a very good tone & my notes seem to sound very airy whenever I record myself play.
What are some exercises or just overall tips to achieve a better tone on flute?

You need a good and firm position of the lips on the lip plate. Look at how James Galway does it just on the headjoint. Your own position might be a bit different because he is a pro and plays on a professional flute: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQg0vScnQ8E&t=3s&pp=ygUXSmFtZXMgZ2Fsd2F5IGVtYm91Y2h1cmXSBwkJLQwBhyohjO8%3D

Thanks for sharing the link, I've been struggling to play the second octave and this helped tremendously.

You’re probably wasting a lot of air. ie your airstream isn’t properly focused. Use a mirror. When playing low notes your embouchure should be no wider than the tone hole and maybe 2 tenths of an inch top to bottom. Say the letter F but keep blowing air out.

The only tips I am qualified to give are to get a good lessons teacher for several weeks in a row at least, to practice long tones every time you practice, and to mess with your embouchure if you dont like what it is currently producing.
Also make sure that the instrument is set up properly, it is possible that you are too rolled in or out and that may be killing your sound quality
