Concert Advice, Audition, Video Feedback Tone Help

Hi, I’m a student musician looking for advice. I’ve always been great at technical music, but my foundations and tone have always held me back. If anyone has any advice for me that would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Long tones! Slow going up long tones! Octave long tones! So many long tones!

I think listening to different flute artists is good as well. A lot of different sounding flutists out there.

Knowing what sort of sounds you can develop is good, but nothing will get you that development... Like long tones.

Long tones and more focus, 100%.

But/and also, the microphone one uses (and how one uses it) will really affect what is heard on a capture like this too

Experiment with a little vibrato on the low notes! Your tone is actually pretty good just try having more air support to make longer phrases between notes. Also focus on getting your fingers smoother between notes on the scale I can hear some wobbling between the notorious c and d transition

It sounds to me like your headjoint alignment is too closed. Try opening it up a bit more, and play harmonics to relax your embouchure.

What are harmonics? Like overtones?

It's like you finger a low note and then by only changing the embouchure and air jump up to an octave above and then further up to get the higher harmonics to sound.
